Will Shelley Winters finally have her revenge on Sam Pancake and the Monday Afternoon Movie?  Now that we're back to the horror genre, Sam has invited iconic filmmaker and confirmed cult leader Peaches Christ into the fold to talk about REVENGE!, the 1971 ABC movie of the week starring Sam's nemesis, Dame Shelley Winters, Bradford Dillman, and Stuart Whitman.  In what very much feels like a precursor to the classic Stephen King story Misery, a vigilante mother will do anything to get revenge against the man who she believes is directly responsible for her daughter's untimely death. Will her plot to destroy him go too far?  Will Peaches' perspective on all things Shelley finally convince Sam to show her some love? Or will Sam's deep and passionate disdain for her just grow stronger with each scene stealing blocking and each passing huff and wheeze?

A school teacher takes a job teaching at a very rural school where she discovers that the locals adhere to very strict rules regarding their society as well as their children. Is there more to this town than isn't easily visible? Is the new school teacher in danger? Will doctor/veterinarian Willam Shatner have to save the day? Will we all have a newly discovered love of the sweet sounds of the harmonica?

It wouldn't quite feel like the holidays without a Monday Afternoon Movie holiday special. For that special, why not cover the infamous pinnacle of all holiday variety shows, The Star Wars Holiday Special?! Unfortunately, they are not the main characters in any way. That title would belong to Lumpy & Itchy, the family of Chewbacca, who spend large portions of the movie grunting away  about Life Day without the assisitance of subtitles. Then, just for fun, toss in a bevy of celebrity guests like Bea Arthur, Harvey Korman, Art Carney, Dihann Carroll, and Jefferson Starship. Ok y’all- for my Halloween episode(s) this year, I decided to take us on a trip to that fated Dutch Colonial Mansard-Roofed House of Horror with the Glowing Demonic Window/Eyes. I had never seen the fourth installment and first TVM iteration of the frenetic “Amityville Horror” franchise, 1989’s AMITYVILLE HORROR: THE EVIL ESCAPES aka AMITYVILLE 4: THE EVIL ESCAPES aka A HIDEOUS GAY LAMP IS KILLING MY FAMILY.

Y’all. Y’all!??! Y’ALL. The good news is that you can watch this jaw-dropper most anywhere: Tubi, Plex, Pluto, FreeVee, AMC+, Roku, YouTube, the CVS app, in the settings dial of a new Whirlpool dryer, if you stare long enough into a slightly spoiled container of macaroni salad from that questionable snack kiosk at the airport. The better news is that it is one of the most ridiculously hilarious, nonsensically kookoo-boots “movies” I’ve ever had the pleasure of covering on the pod. The best news: my guest is the delightful and deeply knowledgeable cutie- smartie Joshua Tonks, who I was a big fan of from my fave scary movie podcasts from the UK, “Evolution of Horror” and “Brain Rot.” Luckily he was here in LA visiting from London this week and I snagged him in person for my 🎃 special! Yeehaw!

After increasingly concerning behavior, including staying in character even when they aren't playing the game, he sneaks out of a party to go on a solo mission to find his long lost brother. His friends follow the clues he's left behind, Scooby Doo style, leading to our climactic finale in the heart of New York City.

When the group decide to take the game into the local caves to add an extra level of excitement to the adventure, it leads to one of them going missing and the rest wondering what is real and what is fantasy. You will definitely want to watch this one, if only for the amazing 80's sweaters on display.
