Episode 45 - Discovery Buys WarnerMedia
On this incredibly special episode of The AT&WB Podcast, we say goodbye to the AT& portion of the podcast. AT&T has officially sold off it's stake in WB to the folks at Discovery Channel and David Zaslav, who Discovery discovered in 2006, is now steering the entire Warner Brothers boat. He's making drastic decisions which seem to compromise the artist for the sake of saving a few bucks. We go over everything from the cancelation of BATGIRL, to the erasure of INFINITY TRAIN and the dropped original content on HBO Max to Discovery's breakdown of demographics and the incredibly rich history of systemic racism in the first 100 years of Warner Brothers. Actor, creative director, friend and entertainment industry hound Brando Cutts joins me to WBreakdown the entirety of the buyout, the rumors of Henry Cavill's return, WB angering creatives such as Nolan and Legendary Entertainment, and I even find the perfect bat-shark repellant joke. We crunch every number from rotten tomato to every dollar SHAZAM made on DVD and Halle's Berry's CATWOMAN made in theaters! We also reminisce about family member John Leveque, Grayson's uncle who recently passed away in November 2021. John Leveque was the Supervising Sound Editor on both BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN AND ROBIN. We talk about the stories he used to tell about recording sounds of actual bats in actual batcaves and the result was harrowing. The lengths John went for great sound effects! Episode 42 - The Matt-rix - Episode II - The Matrix Resurrections WBreakdown
On this very special episode of the AT&WB Podcast we break down the fourth Matrix movie, the Matrix Resurrections! In our second The Matt-rix episode Matt Vicari and Chris Bucca Taylor break down the multiple metaphors Lana planted within the new film. We examine the Trans narrative, the meta-narrative of Neo's journey and how Neo is Lana, and we even break down Trinity's narrative and what it means for women. As we jack-in even further into the Matrix, we also bring up the video games, as well as what each character in this film ultimately represents. It's a perfect bow on the Matrix franchise and one that needed to be told. Oh and most importantly we talk about the deep connection to Warner Brothers that is present in the narrative as well as the new Matrix character named Bugs who breaks Neo out of the Matrix. Bug Bunny being a trans icon and representative of the WB waking up the franchise kind of brings the Matrix meta-narrative neatly back to where it all originated.

Episode 41 - Character WBreakdown - Steven Universe With Jeremy Blum
On this very special episode of the podcast, I have on special co-host Jeremy Blum, who is a huge fan and lover of all things Steven Universe. We dive into the Steven Universe and I discover just how progressive and amazing this animated show truly is. Rebecca Sugar has created such an incredibly artistically rich narrative and, shall we say, universe to play in. From the characters being gems with their own identity, to what "fusing" represents, as well as the breakdown and rebuilding of the different types of typical family dynamics. Steven Universe breaks it all down and gives us something new, something fresh and emphasizes the importance of not being bullied to be something you don't want to be, but the true factor of being cool is to be your truest self, even if that self is weird and you turn your fingers into cat heads. Jeremy explores the trans-narrative laid out throughout the series, how the characters deal with grief and so much more. The is a Character WBreakdown episode as Steven from Steven Universe will be one of the many playable characters in WB's Multiversus video game, which pits WB's biggest stars together.

Episode 40 - Character WBreakdown - Batman With Benny Briseno
On this WBreakdown episode, we breakdown the definitive, perennial superhero, the one who started it all and will continue to set the boundaries for what a superhero can do. Benny Briseno is a huge Batman fan, he's a Batman-ologist, and his secret origin is entwined with the caped crusader. We both honor the human, the myth, the justice that is the dark knight as we crown who has the best bat lips. We go over every person to have played Batman, and we still don't know who played him in the WB Network TV 2002 series Birds of Prey, which we do bring up along with many other of the Batmen including Val, the Cloon, Bat-fleck, as well as a shoutout to Lewis Wilson and Robert Lowery, who were the Batmen of the 50s black and white TV serials. And we get real, as we further dive into the Snyder-verse, as we delve further into the feud between Ray Fisher and Walter Hamada and how Ray won with the ousting of toxic male avenger Joss Whedon from HBO. #AccountabilityOverEntertainment Join us as we talk about the greatest superhero of all time, star WB proprietary fighter in Multiversus: Batman (Special episodes currently behind the paywall will be released for free in 2022!)

Warner Bros. did it, they actually did it and announced that all 17 of their giant tentpole films will be released simultaneously on their own streamer HBO Max and in theaters starting with Wonder Woman 1984. Alex Newman joins Bucca Taylor as we delve into the nitty gritty of the transition from theatrical to the new digital delivery system. We also go in depth about Johnny Depp and Joss Whedon's relationships with Warner Bros. and how they both moved from Disney to Warner Bros. and then became quite toxic to the latter. VRV and the greater Otter Media digital empire that WB owns is mentioned, as is that final Game of Thrones season and speculation as to why it went down the way that it did. Also Ray Fisher's Accountability over Entertainment is a message that we fully support here. And finally the super special guests include non other than Bucca's cat Lana Leopard and Newman's cat Eevee, listen as the wreck havoc in the Podcast studio.
