    Sacred Sound for Getting Back into Your Body

    The traumas of life can disconnect us from our bodies. When we experience a shock, we rebound out. We live from our heads, or we retreat inward or hide behind ourselves. We have trouble being our authentic selves in relationships or expressing our thoughts clearly in work environments.


    Sound vibration is really helpful for breaking up stuck energies to release old patterning and blocks from the body, and it's also helpful for getting yourself back into your body, connected with your core authentic self. 


    There are specific sounds which can help us reconnect and anchor into our bodies, regardless of how long ago the traumas occurred.

    Release Effects of Trauma using Sacred Sound

    In this Meditation & Healing Circle, we focus on releasing the effects of trauma from the body. We use Sacred Sounds to open the throat and reclaim the voice. We release constriction from the upper chest, throat, jaw, face, and head, returning us to our original knowing of ourselves as beings of light.

     

    April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Whether you have experienced traumas directly related to these topics or not, we all hold trauma responses in our nervous systems. 

    With a national focus on such abuses, this is a good time to tap into the collective intentions and bring release and healing to those places that are wanting to let go.   


    For the remainder of April, we'll be using Sacred Sound to release and heal old traumas and restore our hearts and nervous systems, so mark your calendar to join us each Sunday.

     

    Next week, April 21, we focus on coming back into the body, centering and grounding. Then on April 28, we focus on healing for the heart. So be sure to join us live on Sundays.

    What Sacred Sound Tells Us about Our Role on this Planet

    What is our role on this planet in relation to other species? Answers are encoded within us, and Sacred Sound can awaken the inner knowledge.


    Humans are one of four main species, different from the others because we are caretakers of the planet. We are here to take care of this world and the other species that are also, like us, a part of this world.

     

    Of course, we know this in our bones – and we have a deep knowledge and wisdom that is encoded in our subtle energy bodies. Using Sacred Sound, we can connect with this inherent instinct and feel it within us, to help us embody and BE what we are here to bring to this planet.

     

    This is a really powerful exercise for us to consciously experience, especially at this crucial time for our planet – when so many species are dying off and the health of our planet is in question.

     

    In this Meditation & Healing Circle, we call on Muhyiddin Ibn Al-'Arabi's Cosmology of Sound and the Emanation of Creation to help us tap into the vibrations that help us viscerally know our place and live into our role - in harmony - on this planet, our Mother Earth.

    Is Moving beyond Old Wounds a Spiritual Bypass?

    Some people say that moving beyond old wounds before they are healed is a spiritual bypass. They believe you cannot move beyond until you have healed. Yet, the life journey is a continual process of healing. So how can you be your authentic self while you're in the process?


    We change our relationship to our past, our old wounds, and the pain they cause. Our movement is more of a dance - we learn to express ourselves and be ourselves as we are moving through the divine choreography. This is not inauthentic. It's real.


    To heal means to make whole. With awareness and ever-evolving consciousness, we can continue to heal as we move. The important thing is that we accept ourselves in our perfect imperfections as we grow. We do not live from our old wounds, but we have awareness of our relationship to them as we evolve into more and more authentic and fulfilling aspects our ourselves.

    Release Beliefs of "Not Enough"

    We carry layers and layers of subconscious self-talk and emotional wounding that feeds into our sense of "not enough." Not tall enough, not thin enough, not pretty enough, not enough training or education, not enough money, not enough time, not enough... not enough... enough of that! 

     

    These beliefs build a wall around us that keeps us from pursuing the passions we feel inside which will lead us to true fulfillment. They keep us from feeling safe and confident in our bodies. They steer us away from feeding our bodies in a way that cares for our sacred temples.

    Fasting is the ultimate Gift of Slowing Down. It is not an action or a ritual, but a non-doing, a state of being that allows your presence to be one with your divine essence. In this state you find many truths and extraordinary healing.


    The Divine Design of your physical body gives it the intelligence to heal itself. Our role is to choose the wisdom that gives it the necessary conditions and the space. Fasting is one of the most powerful gifts we've been given to create these conditions.


    March is National Colorectal Cancer awareness month. We are at the start of Ramadan, and we're in the midst of Lent. All of these observations can use fasting as a practice of personal healing, spiritual growth, and transformation.

    How to Evolve in Our Changing World

    How do we evolve in our changing world? In this age of multiple crises that are accelerating and converging, it's very challenging to not fall back into old patterns stemming from unprocessed trauma. How do we move through these patterns so that we can create consciously and thrive?

     

    As it happens, one of the best models for regeneration is found in nature. Like all organic life, our bodies share the same architecture and cardinal principles for life flourishing. The portals to unlocking these can be found in our bodies, specifically in our largest sense organ, the fascia.

     

    I'm very excited to have a special guest, Elizabeth Dare Andes, to take us on a journey to discover how simple somatic practices using breath, sound and movement can reconnect us with our body's signature wave and restore our coherence so that we can face the challenges ahead with clarity, intention and a deep devotion to the sacred in all life.

     

    I met Elizabeth in the Continuum Movement world. Her incredible knowledge and masterful ways of articulating the mysteries of fascia and somatic healing continues to blow my mind. I know you're going to love her!!
