    Episode 41: Self Love
Welcome to self love. This affirmation and meditation is for developing self love. Begin by taking 3 belly deep inhales and long exhales. Pushing out your stomach naturally opens your chest. An open chest opens your heart and receptivity. Feel free to let out a sigh or two or three. I am a badass. I am strong. I set the bar high for self love. I am an example for others to follow. When I forget how much I love myself, I laugh and say, “thank you for the opportunity to remember.” I love you. I remember to tap into the timelessness of the universe. I am patient with the evolution of myself. I am like a mountain in the wind. Beautiful, calm, steady, solid and still. When I am caught by the racing wind, I remember to breathe. I let go of control. I look at my thoughts and emotions with compassion. I see myself through compassionate eyes. I am gentle on myself for mistakes made. You are enough. Love is your birthright. There is nothing you need to do to deserve love. You are perfect just the way you are. You are loved so deeply and so completely. You are serene. I am the most nurturing and caring mother to my most precious inner child. I soothe my inner child with love, affection and adoration. Now imagine holding yourself as a child. Hug them tight against your chest as you would a frightened toddler. As they are wrapped up in your loving arms, you both become enveloped by a light pink mist radiating from your heart. And you whisper in their ear: I am here for you little one. You are such a courageous soul. You are so brave. Where you are weak, I am strong. When you feel threatened, I will protect you. When you need space, I will provide it for you. When you feel discouraged, I will encourage you. When you are tense, I will free you. When you call I will come. I will watch. I will listen. I will play. I am here for you. I have your back. And You are loved. As soon as I open my eyes in the morning I say, “I love you!” to myself. When I look in the mirror, “I love you” When I’m feeding my body, “I love you” When I’m feeding my mind, “I love you” When I criticize myself, that’s my cue to say, “I love you” When I lose motivation and momentum slows... “I love you” When I compare myself to others, I remember to Love you.

Episode 40: Your Reaction is the ONLY Thing that Matters
It doesn’t matter how others act, only how you react. Observe your reactions closely to see who you’ve become Did you choose those reactions now? Or sometimes long ago when you were very young. The actions of other people inspire you to feel. If you look beyond impulse you might just find a clue. But first tell yourself, “it’s OK, you’re feeling exactly how you’re expected to.” Then use this as an opportunity to discover more about you. If you feel compelled to share what you have learned Tell your friend calmly and… Observe how they react when you tell them how you felt when you got burned. BONUS ;) And since you’re now an expert at digging a little deeper, Ask your friend questions to find out what dictated their behavior. And with that information you have learned a lot about the meaning you both give things Use that information to transform endings to new beginnings.

Episode 39: How to Nurture Your Depression
Nurture your depression, let me tell you how Stop pushing it away There’s no need to fake act happay Make terms with where you’re at. Don’t listen to people when they say, “STOP! Depression is bad.” Enjoy being a sleepy head. You’re body probably needs it. And when they ask you how you’re doing, be honest say, “Lifes rough, I’m depressed, got a quick fix?” Follow what they say if it’s something like, “Cheeyyaaa girl, watch Elder Millennial on Netflix.” Ease into laughter, remember what it feels like to feel good. When the haunting voice comes back, tell it, eh eh not in my hood. I’m perfectly normal for feeling this way. I’m craving deep connection and I have none. My family lives across the country. And I’m trying to do this “all on my own thing” It’s scary and courageous and lonely sometimes It’s dark early and below freezing outside I’ve got you in my ear a constant dose of shame If you were in my position you would feel the same. Who invited you to this party anyway? We’ve been here before, this aint the first time. We made it through then and we’ll do it again. It’ll be a whole lot easier if you quit telling me how bad a person I am. We occupy the same body and live in the same brain. I’d prefer to be friends but if we can’t, I’m gonna stop listening.

Episode 38: I'm Probably Gonna Mess Up
How often do you play the same role Over and over, isn’t it old? How old can it get before you decide Turn it down, sit still let go of the comfort it provides. When things didn’t go my way, “How could you? I’m shocked!” Angrily turn my back, cross my arms and at the same time, cry and whimper away, Not today. No not today I’ll be defeated. Not today will I hold the frame and in the middle my picture, a powerless victim. No pride in waving that flag. No fun in playing that card. So, I’ll play a different one instead. But I’ve been playing it so long what other cards do I have? You may have none, but you can make one. So if victimhood leaves holes, which cards could make us whole? All those days I played victim couldn’t be for nothing. Hidden in anger I discovered my values. Shock bought me time to sift through my thoughts and decipher what’s mine. So when I’m hit with the same situation again I have space to choose A different reaction. I can articulate my words and my feelings with peace. And I can see through your eyes when you’re sitting in my place. With a list of values that drive my decisions A vision that allows me to handle with compassion A way out when I hit a dead end I’m conditioned to know how to win. I’m sitting at the table new cards in hand. So come at me world, I’m ready for playing. I’m probably gonna mess up, Slip into my old ways The more I play these new cards My old habits drift away Take it easy on myself when I go into routine Remember that I’m playing Life’s more interesting.
