Levi Hummon is a singer-songwriter based in Nashville. He has toured with Tim McGraw, LadyA, KeithUrban, Kelsea Ballerini, SamHunt, and others. He is a Nashville Native and has been around music his entire life. He has taken advantage of the social media aspect of growing his fan base. We talk about what it was like growing up with a dad who is a very successful songwriter and what it looks like to follow in those footsteps and also stepping out of that shadow and creating his own name. As a dad myself, I really enjoyed hearing how supportive his parents have been throughout his journey. The Nashville music industry can chew people up and spit them out, but Levi is in it for the long haul. Make sure to take a listen to a song Levi played in the Rambler as well at the end of this episode.

In Episode 56, Rodney Smith shares how his life has consisted of going against the norms. He talks about following your passion in spite of what others might say and so much more!
After graduating from college with a BA in Broadcast Communications Rodney had dreams of being an on-air personality and had his eyes set on a future gig as a morning show host for country music radio. He first completed two radio institute programs in Boston and Kentucky, run by the nation’s top radio professionals. He earned a radio marketing license through each program. Rodney strives to bring a new style to country radio and break the stereotypes in the world. With a very good eye for fashion, he takes pride in his style and always dresses to impress. He recently did his first Red Carpet interviews for the CMA awards show. He has a podcast called Making Sense of Adulting and is working on projects with Netflix.
I am sure you will enjoy this convo with Rodney as much as I did. I think it’s pretty cool to see how he is constantly swimming against the current of normalcy and breaking stereotypes…not just because he has something to prove, but because God had created that path for him.

In Episode 50, Henry Particelli talks about his journey from Canada to Nashville. He shares why he has a passion for serving his community and why he has never given up on music.
Henry Particelli knew he wanted to be a police officer ever since he took an aptitude test in school that suggested he pursue a career in law enforcement. However, this Sault Ste. Ontario, Canada native quickly had those dreams squashed when, at the time, Canada required that all officers have uncorrected 20/20 vision. Consequently, he set out on a career that would traverse through a variety of entrepreneurial, sales, and labor positions. Simultaneously, since his teen years, Henry had been penning songs and playing guitar. After winning the Northern Ontario Great Northern Opry competition in 1994, he boarded a Greyhound bus for Nashville to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter. In the early 2000s, he would release his debut project and had a single peak at #26 on the Canadian Country Charts under the name Rick Henry. Throughout his musical pursuits, his passion for law enforcement was re-ignited when he took on a side hustle as a bounty hunter.
By the late 2000s, Henry shifted music to the back burner and turned his efforts to secure a position in law enforcement. He qualified and graduated from the Metro Nashville Police Academy in 2010 just a few weeks shy of his 41st birthday – the oldest rookie in the class. He quickly rose from patrol to a FLEX unit and Crime Suppression Unit before landing a spot on the Gang Unit that would permanently change his career projection. During his second week on the Gang Unit, while trying to apprehend a fleeing suspect, Henry’s leg was broken in several places and his ankle sustained severe injuries. Ten months and four surgeries later, he refused the injured on-duty pension and returned to work despite doctors advising him otherwise. After completing the assessment process, he was promoted to sergeant in January 2016 and landed his current position in the community affairs office the following year. Performing on the televised broadcast of a funeral for fallen Officer John Anderson in Nashville, Henry landed on the radar of The Sound Emporium’s President Juanita Copeland. The two started The Good Guys Foundation to assist the families of fallen law enforcement officers and those who have suffered career-ending injuries across the nation. Henry penned his current release, the emotive song “Your Name,” during a time period when he was already scheduled to be in the studio finishing another project. As a result, Copeland quickly added the song to an upcoming session and has continued to work alongside Particelli to share its important and powerful message with a world in need of empathy and unity.

In Episode 47, Staci Flood-Popp shares some of her story and why she chose a career in dance. A move to Paris for a few years changed her life forever!
After receiving her degree in Visual Arts from Wittenberg University, Stacie moved to Paris, France to study as an apprentice under visual artist and professor at Parsons School of Design, David Loeb. During her stay in Paris, Stacie found herself falling in love with another form of visual art, dance. She started classes at Cite’ Veron and Studio Harmonic; focusing on modern, jazz, hip hop, salsa and contemporary. After only one year, she trained professionally under Jean Claude Marignale, Dominique Lesdema, Christopher Huggins, Bruno Collinet and Beverley DeFosses. Stacie also danced in Marginale’s company, Tout en Danse. After she moved back to the States, she started to train in Vagonova, West African dance, and Bartenieff Fundamentals. After returning to Nashville, Stacie worked closely with world renowned choreographer Andre Fuentes and danced with Collide Dance under Erica Sobol.
For the past 18 years, Stacie has taught at Nashville School of the Arts (NSA). At NSA, she developed dancers who have performed with The Louisville Ballet, Boston Ballet, Celine Dion, Donna Summer, DCDC and various other professionals in the concert and commercial dance community. She has served as dance faculty at Vanderbilt University Dance Program and was chosen to be a visiting artist at American College Dance Festival, RADfest, and Big River Dance Festival.
In 2016, Stacie earned her certification in Laban Movement Analysis through the Integrated Movement Studies Program at the University of Utah. After her certification, Stacie has studied with Deborah Hay, Christopher Roman, KJ Holmes, and other great dance makers of the current times.
In this conversation, I gain a better understanding of all that goes into dance and the different styles of dance. I always enjoy hearing how experiencing a different culture can really change a person’s life.
