    1) 101.9 WDET Detroit is trying to start an NPR-inspired tradition by reading the Preamble and the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution.
    2) 90.5 KUT Austin listeners get to decide which program will take over the Saturday 2:00 p.m. timeslot to replace Marketplace Weekend, which has ended production.
    3) WBAA West Lafayette's AM 920 translator on the FM dial (105.9 W290CM) has been having some problems since Tuesday.

    03) 91.5 WUNC Chapel Hill adds The New Yorker Radio Hour and the How I Built This/Planet Money combo to its Sunday schedule.
    04) Nashville Public Radio adds 1A, another hour of Morning Edition and the BBC Newshour to its schedules.
    05) KTWU 11 Topeka decides to launch World on channel 11.2 to replace MHz Worldview.
    06) Capital Public Radio expands the Sunday overnight simulcast of the BBC World Service and moves Reveal on Sundays too.
    07) 90.7 WFAE Charlotte adds 1A and The Daily to its weekday schedule. Plus, the overnight BBC World Service simulcast got expanded too.
    08) Technical problems include 91.7 KOSU Stillwater - Oklahoma City getting hit by lightning in its antenna on Friday, two of WVTF Roanoke's Music stations suffering power outages and WVIA-TV 44 Wilkes-Barre/Scranton suffering quick problems on Monday afternoon.
    09) 103.3 KWBU-FM Waco turned 18 on July 1st. It signed on-the-air July 1st, 2000.
    10) Everything that you also missed since the last time we did the last episode in a brand new segment called "What You Missed."

    1) Bill Littlefield is retiring after 35 years in public radio and 25 years hosting NPR and 90.9 WBUR Boston's Only A Game.
    2) KLRU 18 Austin is scheduled to move into its new building in 2020 and will be shared with the Austin Community College District.
    3) All of Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB)'s radio stations are scheduled to go off-the-air for at least two hours Saturday for maintenance.
    4) Former NPR reporter and editor John McChesney, who co-created the national desk, has passed away Tuesday at 78 from complications of leukemia.
    5) KTWU 11 Topeka will add World to its subchannel lineup in July.
    6) Reading Rainbow is 35 years old. The legendary PBS Kids program made its debut on June 6th, 1983. It went on to run until 2006, a 23 year run.

    Highlights from Wednesday, June 6th include a new report from The Pew Research Center indicating the state of public media on various factors including investments into newsrooms, economics and audience figures. That report can be found on our twitter page @PubMediaFans with a link detailing more information. Also, 89.3 WFPL Louisville will launch a new podcast next week that's similar to a podcast that 90.1 KUER Salt Lake City is doing.

    2) WGVK-TV 52 Kalamazoo, WGVU Grand Rapids' satellite station, is doing some maintenance for an hour later this morning.

    PMD #24: We're back!
    We're back after a long break! This is Episode #24 of Public Media Daily and we're glad that your patient enough to stick around. We took some time off and upgraded our equipment to sound better than before. Highlights from Friday-Sunday, June 1st-3rd, include...
    1) 90.7 WMFE Orlando delivering another successful "silent drive," its fourth victory in a row.
    2) NPR is shutting down five news blogs, "The Two-Way," "All Tech Considered," "Parallels," "NPR Ed" and NPR Music's "The Record."
    3) Revenue is growing inside public media but the smaller stations aren't receiving it, leaving it just for the larger and midsize stations, according to CPB's latest "State of the System" report.
    4) WKAR East Lansing has just changed its frequencies in the Spectrum Repack, the first public television station in the United States to do so.
    5) 88.7 WBFO Buffalo wins 11 awards (9 first place and 2 second place) from the New York State Associated Press Association, including "Outstanding News Operation" for the fifth straight year in a row.
    6) St. Louis Public Radio (90.7 KWMU) turned 46 over the weekend. Over the years, its increased listenership and now broadcasts on an additional two stations (90.3 WQUB and 88.5 KMST).
    7) We now have a new intro and a closer for the podcast! If you're wondering, it begins with an old PBS ident theme, followed by American Public Television (APT), the legendary and now retired Robert Siegel saying "This is NPR," the Public Radio International (PRI) jingle, the American BBC World Service theme to introduce American Public Media (APM) and the former jingle to PRX (Public Radio Exchange). It concludes with yours truly saying the podcast's name.

    01) Day 4 and the final day of April 2018 public radio ratings. Today, we look at Austin, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Nashville, Providence, Jacksonville, Greensboro, West Palm Beach, Memphis and Hartford.
    02) WEIU-TV 51 Charleston, Ill. suffered a technical problem yesterday. As of this episode, its still off-the-air.
    03) WSKG-TV 46 Binghamton turned 50 last weekend and will throw a party in just a couple of weeks to celebrate it.
    04) WCVE Richmond is throwing a big party to celebrate the upcoming launch of "WCVE News" (88.9 WCVE, 89.1 WCNV and 90.1 WMVE) and "WCVE Music" (93.1 WWLB and 107.3 WBBT). Robert Siegel will be there emceeing the event so you know it will be good.

    02) Marketplace has announced the end of Marketplace Weekend, hosted by Lizzie O'Leary.
    03) Vermont Public Radio (VPR) is upgrading its audio equipment over the weekend so they'll be in automation.
    04) Day 3 of public radio ratings. Today... Portland, Charlotte, San Antonio, Sacramento, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Las Vegas, Orlando, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Kansas City and Columbus.
    04) WSHU opens up a brand new three-story, 21,000 square foot broadcast center facility in Fairfield.
    05) Clifford The Big Red Dog is returning to PBS Kids in Fall 2019. It will also air on Amazon Prime.
    06) 1430 WPLN Nashville is off-the-air thanks to damage from its transmitter tower.
    07) TV 7 and 90.3 FM - KMNE Bassett, Neb. from NET Nebraska was off-the-air for a while yesterday but came back on-the-air within two hours.
    08) 90.5 KUT Austin is (currently) off-the-air. No word as to why that's the case.
    09) 93.5 KRTS Marfa, Tex. went off-the-air twice yesterday because of tower maintenance and weather. It came back on-the-air on both occasions.
