Pharaoh finally lets the Israelites go, and they leave Egypt under God’s mighty hand. This long-awaited deliverance fulfills His promise to Abraham’s descendants. As they depart, God’s people begin a new chapter as a redeemed nation, set apart to follow Him into freedom.
God declares the final plague: the death of every firstborn in Egypt. The Israelites are spared through the blood of the lamb, marking God’s mercy on their homes. The Passover becomes a lasting sign of God’s deliverance and points forward to Christ, our ultimate Passover Lamb.
God sends a series of plagues on Egypt to show His power and challenge its false gods. With each plague, Pharaoh’s heart hardens, but the people start to recognize the Lord’s hand. Through judgment and mercy, God reveals Himself as the one true God over all creation.
God calls Moses and Aaron to boldly speak His word to Pharaoh. When Pharaoh demands a sign, Aaron’s staff becomes a serpent, swallowing the magicians’ staffs, showing God’s supremacy. Even as Pharaoh’s heart hardens, God’s authority over Egypt is clear.
Feeling overwhelmed and rejected, Moses questions God’s plan. God reassures him by reaffirming His covenant and revealing His redemptive purpose. Though Moses feels inadequate, God promises that His word and power will prevail.
Moses and Aaron confront Pharaoh, declaring God’s command to free His people, but Pharaoh refuses and increases their workload. The Israelites suffer and grow frustrated, yet God uses this moment to begin revealing His power over Egypt.
Moses returns to Egypt with his family, obeying God’s command. Along the way, God highlights the importance of obedience and the holiness of His covenant. When Moses and Aaron arrive, the Israelites believe and worship God for hearing their cries.
Moses doubts his ability to lead, but God provides miraculous signs to show His authority. Even as Moses hesitates, God promises His help and appoints Aaron as his spokesman. God’s patience shows He can use imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plan.
While tending sheep, Moses encounters God in a bush that's on fire but doesn't burn up. God speaks and reveals His name, “I AM WHO I AM,” and calls Moses to lead Israel from slavery. Despite his fears, Moses learns that God’s presence and power will guide him.
