The Manifestation Diaries Out Oct 16!

In this episode, I add some extra commentary on my recent article, manifestation rituals for modern people. Try these five rituals at your own leisure to bring whatever magic of reality exists to life.
We explore:
* Pre-rituals, rituals and post-rituals for manifestation
* A grounded, practical and relaxed take on manifestation
* How to manifest during the day in the modern day
* Balancing scepticism with hope and optimism
My favourite type of rituals for manifestation are the ones which help me live my life more than they require the unnecessary. Forget rewriting goals or affirmations like you’re in sixth grade dictation, forget meditating for three hours on a yoga mat. I want real, slightly controversial, slightly fun and juicy rituals that make me believe I’m headed somewhere quite lovely.
Sure, whether or not I am is up to my actions, a little drizzle of starry alignment (if you believe in that), and consistency where feedback of failure prevails until something nice and fluffy and deemed as ‘success’ appears. Until then, I’ll try, try some more. And even after, my efforts to explore life and its undulations of challenge and ease will continue.

‘Success mindset’ flew to popularity in the late 2010s in the self improvement world. And it still attracts attention today. From motivation compilations on YouTube, to hustle/flow culture, the question in this episode is how has it changed over time, and how might we view its sentiments today?
Today, we explore:
* Some new ways to reframe success mindset in a gentle, more worldly approach
* How might we embrace success mindset in 2025?
* Some example phrases or affirmations to pair well with an updated take on success mindset
* Five things we can try if we’d like to take action on success mindset in an up-to-date way

This week, whilst down with a cold/flu, I re-listened to a familiar self help book: The Big Leap. My second time around with it hasn’t panned out the same as when I first listened to it in 2017. So, I thought I’d share my thoughts and commentary on why I think this is the case, and my own unsolicited advice on what I would do now to overcome self-sabotage.
Today, we explore:
* Different kinds of self-sabotaging behaviour
* Commentary on The Big Leap, which addresses self-sabotage
* Alternatives to the advice given in The Big Leap
* How culture shifts influence how I perceive self help advice now
* 5 practical tips to overcome self sabotage

Cool(ness) is a mystique; it reveals itself through slow, accidental flashes of enticement and excitement as we venture to fill the gaps with our imagination between what is displayed, and what is visually and conceptually certain.
This article explores the concept of cool. Is it a sin to want to be cool? What makes something so?
Stay tuned for an exciting announcement at the end of this episode!

Sylvia Plath’s damn fig tree. I wrote these words in a comic-sans-esque font using a pruned finger on the foggy glass door of the shower. They were barely readable now, the hot mist clearing out the letters nearly as fast as I’d dazedly written them. I’d been ruminating, as one does within the three cubic metres of a shower, being pelted on with a stream of hot air and water, on career — the non-linear experience of it all. The desire to be everything, and thus, feeling like no matter what you choose, you’ve made the wrong decision.
This article offers another view into a less depressing analogy.
Includes writing prompts and *rolls eyes*, yes, affirmations.

In this episode, I add some extra commentary on my recent article, manifestation for modern people. A cosy, thought-provoking listen whilst you walk, drive or sip your tea.
* What is manifestation for modern people?
* What kind of attitudes/views might this entail?
* Six things to try to casually partake in manifestation
* Reflection on manifestation as an idea over the years
Manifestation is the idea that we have influence on our reality with our thoughts, feelings and actions; at least, this is my preferred take on it. Sometimes this involves affirmations, visualisation and dream statements — and for the more practically inclined, there is an emphasis on action.
But how does an idea like manifestation shift with the culture? How are we interacting with a field of thought which has rich promises in its mainstream contexts that are sometimes too good to be true?

Offline. The word just seems so fresh, audibly and conceptually. It’s the land of the untouched, the undocumented, the salient and the vestigial. It’s where we can say controversial things that you never would online because our close friends know it’s with nuance and in one specific context and actually fine.
9 reasons to be offline.
