3 May 2026, 2:02 am - 11 minutes 17 secondsGuillermo May: Auckland FC forward on the elimination final against Melbourne City
Knock-out football has arrived.
Auckland FC is going head-to-head with Melbourne City tonight in a must-win match – the winner moving on to the A-League semi-finals.
There’s weight on the shoulders of Guillermo May, Auckland FC’s all-time leading goal scorer, with Sam Cosgrove and Jesse Randall’s involvement questionable, as they’re both suffering from injuries.
May told Piney since it’s an elimination final, they have to be a lot braver in their play.
“Melbourne City’s been in the last, maybe ten games, they’ve been in a really, really food run, so we have to be on our best to win the game.”

2 May 2026, 3:30 am - 10 minutes 42 secondsMichael Day: Totally Snookered Chief Writer on the 100 minute frame at the World Snooker Championship semi-final
Mark Allen and Wu Yize have played out the longest frame in Crucible history as their world championship snooker semi-final sits at a 7-all stalemate.
A bizarre 14th frame, which saw eight reds covering the black in the right corner pocket, lasted an incredible 100 minutes and 21 seconds.
That led to an impasse which saw a ball not potted for 55 minutes and led to a referee warning, but controversially no re-rack.
While there has been some criticism, with people saying the referee should’ve stepped in sooner, Totally Snookered’s Michael Day told Piney it was a difficult situation for the ref.
He said it wasn’t a traditional stalemate, but looking back, the referee could’ve called it maybe 15 or twenty minutes earlier.
