Kelly Yepez is a lifelong Tucsonan who quite literally grew up at The Village Church, with some of her earliest memories rooted in the old spaces where kids would run and play after service. Now 25, Kelly brings a thoughtful way of seeing the world, shaped by self-awareness, family insight, and a love for simple, practical creativity. She carries that same posture into ministry, especially in Kids Matins and Kids Vespers, where she helps build curriculum that serves children, supports teachers, and stays grounded in the life of the community.
Why we’re using it: It is written by a lifelong Bible scholar, which helps keep the stories close to the biblical text without adding extra details to force a lesson.

In this episode of the Healing the City Podcast, Pastor Eric and Corey Gilchrist take on Netflix’s number one movie of all time, K-Pop Demon Hunters. The two explore why this animated adventure has captured so much attention and what it reveals about our culture’s struggle with shame, perfection, and identity.
They talk about how the film’s mix of humor, action, and heartfelt storytelling mirrors the tension many young people feel between performance and acceptance. Along the way, they discuss whether the movie’s spiritual imagery is helpful or confusing, and if it might be too intense for younger kids.
It’s a fun, thoughtful conversation that moves from laughter to reflection as Eric and Corey consider how stories like K-Pop Demon Hunters can open doors to deeper conversations about grace, fear, and what it means to belong.

In this episode of the Healing the City podcast, Pastor Mark and Pastor Eric sit down to talk about what it actually means to belong. They explore how the Village understands membership, not as signing a line or joining a club, but as stepping into responsibility, stability, and shared life.
Drawing from the Village’s neo-monastic approach, they reflect on how true belonging always demands something of us: showing up, carrying one another’s burdens, and submitting ourselves to a larger story. This isn’t about chasing ideal community; it’s about committing to walk with real people, in all their beauty and brokenness, and letting that shape us into something stronger and more whole.
