It never ceases to amaze me how similar collectors are across all mediums and spaces and scenes. From cars to baseball cards to comic books, everybody's hobby is driven by one thing: exclusivity. But the line between bourbon and shoe collectors is often so blurred that the Venn diagram at times looks more like a circle. And, when someone like Eric "The Whiskey Mutant" Smith is so deeply ingrained in both of those worlds, it means that he's the prime candidate to dissect just how alike these two interests can be. Hailing from the great, rainy state of Washington comes a bourbon from the fine folks of Woodinville Whiskey Co. aged 8 years and clocking in at 100 proof. It's comprised of a high rye mash bill and was aged in a low char, heavy toast barrel that sets it apart from the typical makeup of Woodinville's numerous bourbons on the market. But, can it live up to the reputation that they've carved out over their nearly decade-long tenure on the bourbon market?
