Stay Wild Ep. #36: Soma Temple

Hey little humans, I’m Norma Jean and Welcome to Stay Wild, the podcast about how to keep your quirks in the wonderous world!

This is episode #36 with Soma Temple, creator of “Bali Malas” and “Aum Rudraksha Designs,” contemporary Malas inspired by hindu spirituality, guided by Papaji (H.W.L. Poonja). More than 20 years ago in India, the well-known spiritual teacher Papaji (H.W.L. Poonja) told Soma that since she lived so close to the source of the highest quality Rudraksha beads on the planet, her Dharma (destiny) was to spread them to the western world. They had been kept sacred in India, with primarily sadhu’s and holy people wearing them. Papaji said the world is in chaos and it was time to bring the awareness of rudrakshas to the masses. He also predicted, “that the whole world would be at peace if everyone was wearing them”. Soma’s journey with Rudraksha beads has been incredibly organic, inspired, and unexpected. Since a very young age she was attracted to them and always felt their sacred energy without really understanding what they were, until Papaji’s words helped her accept the dharma bestowed upon her. She then created Aum Rudraksha Designs in 2003 Soma started slowly as a hobby selling them here and there, also gifting them to those close to her. She started noticing how they were actively affecting these people’s lives and saw clearly the positive changes in those around, that had started wearing Rudraksha beads. It first became apparent in her staff. As they started to work with rudraksha’s many of their problems were lessening and disappearing as they became more peaceful, discovering their true self. Living in Bali for over 30 years, Hinduism slowly but surely crept into Soma’s life as she was always attracted to Balinese rituals and ceremonies.

“I believe the essentials for a happy life is to accept that which arises in your life, to say YES to your dharma and to your mission.” -Soma Temple

Stay Wild Ep. #35: Emily McDowell

Hey little humans, I’m Norma Jean and Welcome to Stay Wild, the podcast about how to keep your quirks in the wonderous world!

This is episode #35 with today’s guest, Emily McDowell.

I am so excited to share Emily's story! She is the founder of Emily McDowell & Friends (formerly Emily McDowell Studio), a company that creates beautiful illustrated treasures, and started out making greeting cards that spoke the truth!

As humans living in this fast-paced digital world, it has become a challenge for us to connect - we've been so accustomed to "minding our own business" and setting boundaries that it has become difficult for us to say exactly how we feel, and we've left a lot of that job with greeting card companies. Then again, classic greeting cards don't reflect what's actually happening in our lives and how we're feeling. Template messages just weren't cutting it anymore. Enter Emily and the Empathy Card Revolution!

Join us for this episode of delving into creative paths, empowerment, entrepreneurship, and how success and joy in our lives is anything but linear.

Stay Wild Ep. #33: Divya Darling

Hey little humans, I’m Norma Jean and welcome to Stay Wild! This is episode 33 with today’s guest, Divya Darling.

Divya is the founder and director of the Intrinsic Brilliance Institute. She is a transformational brain trainer, who is passionate about empowering others to be the brightest and most brilliant versions of themselves.

She has researched the mysteries of the mind for over a decade, obtaining degrees in neuroscience, psychology, and cognitive sciences from Oberlin, a top tier liberal arts university in the US.

As a transformational brain trainer, Divya helps individuals to bridge the gap between conscious belief decisions and unconscious behavior. Her theory is that people operate on different modes and are able to run by "shifting gears." At one point, a person may be in a mode of necessity - which is a place where we tell ourselves that we "have to," putting pressures on ourselves.

Divya emphasizes that everyone can identify which mode they're on by being mindful of what words we use.

Listen in to learn more about Divya's interesting nuggets of wisdom. Tons of value on this episode, little humans!
