Revival is a global inline skating podcast covering the latest news, products, event coverage and skater commentary on lifestyle rolling. We bring you both audio and video so you can sample the best of what rollerblading has to offer. This is rollerblading!
On the cusp of a new year and with the holidays upon us, we bring you episode 63 of Rolling Revival. It’s a great Christmas to be a rollerblader! That’s if you’ve been nice enough to guarantee one of the plethora of new blades making their way to shops this season. Or maybe you’ve been naughty, smoked and drank more than you’d like to admit, but talented enough to get your blades on flow. It’s not easy being a rollerbum sans heath insurance… err I mean, “Pro” nowadays. Just ask our favorite martyr Don Bambrick, now a USD pro and living the carbon fiber life. This week we also took a moment to try and discern if Valo may be set to release it’s all new boot mold for the alleged “Valo Light”. As is normally the case when we throw our pundit hats on, we debate WRS event rankings vs. historically awesome rollerblading events, now waining in attendance.
We’re pretty sure skaters are officially fed up at the notion of seeing rollerblading portrayed in a positive, professional light on TV. However the dream lives on in the most amazing forms, ready to wipe the skepticism right off your face. Notably, it’s hard to keep anything in our small culture a secret, but Daniel’s keeping the links and passwords close to his chest.
Do your best to keep following along, but you’ll have to hit that play button below to get the most out of these links.
Also be sure and check out this weeks POTW by Sam Cooper with a shot of Dan Ives doing a rocket fish – POTW.

We started the show off by adding a new news category. The rumors section of the show featured some interesting happenings in the world of rollerblading. No reason to stick to strictly published news when we can pretty much do or say as we please. Our legitimacy is slightly questionable anyway.
That led us into a crazy debate about Casualty pulling a Franco Shade. Whatever that means!? Lot’s of awesome hardware news which is a treat and a rarity. And of course our signature internet news and video edit highlights.
As if that weren’t enough, we also fill you in on all of this months events happening around the U.S.
This weeks POTW and winner of the almighty dollar is Derek Brabender with a shot of Cody Laplant doing an AO Fish – POTW. Enjoy!

Last week was a no brainer. It didn’t require any thought to know a new episode HAD to be recorded. It was three weeks in the making after all.
It really does start to drive us a bit mad when we’ve gone that long without recording a new show. Al was traveling/skating during episode 61, but he still managed to find some time to tell us about Don’s new Razors skate. Dedicated to the game for sure. Tim and I we’re having a good ‘ol time just being ourselves, bullshitting about our pastime and being realistic about our current situation. We also had an opportunity to play your listener voicemails. Pretty sweet we thought, it’s not everyday you get a message from Cameron Card.
We read the news so you don’t have to… but eventually end up having to, to watch the amazing freaking skate edits we talk about. Read em and weep!

Another two weeks, another blade news filled extravaganza. It’s never good when a skate session ends in the emergency room. This week we were saddened by the news about Chris Oplin taking a really bad fall. This of course brought us down the path to Universal Health care, which we apparently don’t know enough about. From there we managed to pick up the pace and smashed the best news in the biz. Rollerblading roots keep coming up, and it’s great to keep the legacy alive, but don’t forget perspectives on the future! Keep your eyes and ears peeled because the best rollerblading keeps doing down in the most unlikely of places… like “ar” kansas for example.
Don’t forget to also check out this weeks great POTW. Photo by Chris A Gerard. Enjoy!
After 3 weeks out, this weeks show had the fortune of having Mike Torres laying around Al’s loft on a Sunday afternoon. We got down to business and even had a chance to talk about Inline Vert skating, which never happens. You’ll find out why later.
For whatever reason, this was a difficult show to edit. Lot’s of pauses and breaks that stemmed from what I imagine was an all around indifferent mood. Mike was cold, I was tired, Tim I believe fell asleep at some point and Al, well, Al was at his best this show. Just the kind of environment you’d expect a curmudgeon like him to thrive on.
Seriously though, I give all my co hosts a bad rap because it was a really fun show filled with mantras you know and love like, “the evolution of style” and classics like “No grind blading”. Don’t forget, the only global skating podcast from England, Detriot and California is Rolling Revival.
Also check out this weeks great POTW of Michel in Munich dropping a sick BS Fahrvergnügen – Photo by Wladislaw Sokolowskij. Enjoy!

Whoa! Two new shows and one more host, say it isn’t so! Maybe next week we can get FOUR people on the line. It’s a return to style, and to the window with formalities as we bring you Revival Episode 58. Packed with this weeks latest news, it’s finely chopped for easy consuming. Once again, Al Dolega has returned to share more outlandish opinions and Tim Parker was also up in the house to make us sound legitimate. All in all, this one was for fans of the show. We keep brining you the one and only rollerblading podcast, because its a necessary good in a world of broken promises. Keep listening, tell you friends and let us know what you’re up to!

It was really great to have an opportunity to talk to Al again, since it’s been a while since our last effort. In this weeks show, we cover quite a bit of ground on the Bittercold Showdown 2010. We also take some time to talk about the latest news coming from the rollerblading industry and cap it off with some rolling media flavor in the form of boxee. All in all, not a bad comeback for a 6+ month hiatus. Be sure to call into the hotline and leave us something of value. Every contribution counts!

We’re just going to cut to the chase as we’re running a bit late this week. Covering the best blading news our counter culture has to offer this is Episode 56! A hefty show jam packed with heated discussions on the up and coming popularity of the sport.

We never seem to have enough time for Revival, but somehow, we treat you guys and gals to talented individuals who practice what they preach.
Love for skating is what it’s all about, and Eric Mandy’s got it. How could he not when he’s as old as I am (30) and has been skating just as long (10). Whenever guys like Quinn, Conner or Jeremy are skating, Eric’s right there, catching clips alongside them.
I’ve known Eric for a number of years and can count on him to skate his ass off consistently. When the session dies down, he’s still trying to one-up himself. He’s made friends with most of the Los Angeles and SoCal scenes and represents the Prodigy Crew. “Show ya love…” for Eric Mandy.

Back for more round table bullshit, with Episode 55! I forget what we talked about yesterday… I do so many different kinds of drugs, it’s hard to keep track. I’m pretty sure we talked about stabyourselfintheface.com and definitely discussed rollerhome.com at length. Let’s see, also covered some edits and recognized the awesome curatorship that Alan Huges has bestowed upon vimeo.com/skatevideos. We told Tim to stop repping Eulogy, cause that shit is annoying. It’s all about StreetArtist this summer. More insights and punditry from the only assholes dumb enough to hit record. You know the drill by now, the one and only rollerblading podcast. This is Revival episode 55!

We hope your 4th of July weekend was a blast! It’s my pleasure to introduce the first in a series of half hour, documentary style skating videos distributed online and available for free, exclusively through the Rolling Revival podcast. Our Video Producer Quinn Feldman has worked tirelessly capturing and editing the lives of five skaters. Each of which represents a unique kind of talent, diversity and style. Here’s what Quinn had to say about the feature.
The idea behind this series is that we’re all from different places and backgrounds, have different skill levels, but the common bond we share is we all go out and skate and have fun with our friends. These videos are spontaneous and unrehearsed days of skaters going out for the love of skating. My overall goal was to not only entertain our core audience but also to put a personality to the rollerblader. A lot of times we watch an edit and we recognize that the skater is good and we’re impressed but it doesn’t put a face on the skater.”
Featuring full days from: Anthony Williams (CA), Sean Knight (Canada), Mikey Blair (MI), Andrew Scherf aka Beef (AZ) and Ryan Googins (MN).
The video also includes skating from: Iain and Colin McLeod, Ranier Piramide, Michael Obedoza, Brett Dasovic, Brett Hammond, Jake Moreau, Jeph Howard, Quinn Feldman, Ryan Santos, Brian Weiss, Ryan Roux, DP, Chris Farmer and many more.
We at Revival recognize the responsibility to establish greater culture and vision within the skating community. As important as it is to focus on competitive feats, progress in rollerblading means not only looking to the future, but doing so with nostalgia for the past.
We’ve had a lot of fun over the years, and our hope is that every rollerblader gets to share in “the worldwide clique”. My thanks to Quinn for working so hard and producing something of a first in rollerblading videos. We’ll have a DVD ISO available tomorrow, so you can burn your own DVD copy and distribute this video all your own. Another first, in a history of firsts, only on Revival.
