1. Flex pens usually lead to leakage from an injection. It's inaccurate!

2. Shorter needles ironically hurt more.

3. Connivence. If I choose to avoid as much leakage as possible with using a flex pen, I would have to hold the needle under my skin for about 20 to 30 seconds, while still getting leakage! Syringes are a one second injection.

Dawn Phenomenon is described as the body's way of secreting glucose into the bloodstream from hormones like cortisol in the process of sleeping and or wakefulness.

Why does this happen? Well, it is the body's way of supplying energy to us when we wake up, but as people living with diabetes, we do not make the insulin that converts that extra glucose into energy!
