The pure theoretical idea of a “Weekend” -- as a physical and psychological destination – is sacred. A Weekend, after all, is essentially the recurring carrot dangled on the stick in front of the horse of our collective mundanity. In college, for most of us, a Weekend lasted from Tuesday morning through Sunday night. In Adult Land, though, the demands of reality are such that we’re lucky if we can kick off a Weekend on Thursday evening. The philosophy behind “Leave Work Now!,” then, is to not only inspire you to blow off your job and responsibilities as early as possible, by discussing a variety of timely and toothsome local entertainment options, but also to whet your curiosity about any number of lively arts and lifestyle topics.
