In the Temple, the chief priests, scribes, and elders demand to know who gave Jesus authority to teach and to clear the courts. He answers with a question they refuse to face: was John’s baptism from heaven or from men? Then He tells the parable of the vineyard. The owner sends servants. The tenants beat them. He sends his son. They kill him to take the inheritance. Jesus says the owner will destroy those tenants and give the vineyard to others. He quotes Psalm 118: the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. Fall on that stone and be broken in repentance, or refuse it and be crushed in judgment. The call is to confess Jesus as Lord today.
