An Evolution in Rock and Metal Radio.
We caught up with Alter Bridge & Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti and Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon in this interview special from the Manchester arena on their recent UK tour.

In this interview, Mark and Lajon speak to us about the reception to the new Alter Bridge album, how Mark and Lajon met in Texas, why Sevendust are one of the most underrated rock bands in the scene, and the challenges rock bands face in 2026.
While new bands are stuck on a never-ending social media hamster wheel, the guys reflect on how writing timeless, undeniable songs is still the only sure way to stay in the business for a long time.
They also talk about how they stay grounded when they play big venues like the Manchester Arena. For both of them, keeping their egos in check means treating their touring camps like family and bringing their kids along, making the long, hard schedules more bearable and supportive.Looking ahead, they have no plans of slowing down, with Tremonti having Creed in his view for new music, and Sevendust set to release their new album 'One' in May 2026.

Welcome to the Primordial Radio Podcast! Today Moose & Dews talk about everything from festival basements and marathon mistakes to how to stay sane in a world that's always changing.

Moose is feeling better now that he's had some time off from the night shift. He talks about his weekend at Takedown Festival, where he held down the Metal for Good fort. Even though the pre-loved merchandise was hidden away, it got a lot of support.
Dewsbury also tells the story of a fun and wholesome Easter egg hunt at Grandma's house that took a very funny and unexpected turn because of some very laid-back neighbours.
Moose also tells a painfully funny story about how he had to fight for his dignity in a local bowling alley bathroom. We also look forward to some new Primordial merch drops, like Dewsbury's long-awaited tie-dye shirt, and take a moment to recognise how strange it is to go about your daily life when the news cycle is completely upside down.

In radio, you know it's bad when a presenter is told "you've already done your last show," so this week the guys start off with shop-talk by briefly discussing the *big* broadcasting news regarding Radio 2 and their recently-departed breakfast presenter.
They soon get onto the good news though, with an update on Moose's marathon training, and a look ahead to the Primordial Clubhouse Crawl, happening on May Bank Holiday weekend.

Welcome to the Primordial Radio Podcast! Moose is back from a well-deserved break in the Northeast and looks suspiciously rested, despite Newcastle losing the Tyne-Wear Derby.

There’s updates on his marathon training, and worrying developments in the Dewsbury household concerning the security of the previously-impregnable treat cupboard.
The guys then come onto a discussion of the impact of AI, prompted by the recent news story that a guy in the US uploaded thousands of AI-generated songs to streaming platforms, then streamed them billions of times using AI bots, pocketing millions of dollars in royalties.
This kind of thing was always going to happen, but where will it end? Moose and Dews explore the impact of AI on society, music, and jobs, featuring sobering insights into recent developments, ethical concerns, and personal experiences with technology.

Welcome to the Primordial Radio Podcast! Following the tragic news of Phil Campbell’s passing, we pay our respects to the Motörhead and rock n’ roll legend as we revisit our interview with Phil from 2018.

But before we get there, Dews welcomes Pete back to the podcast, despite the fact that he sounds a little worn out from a weekend in London and a chest infection. After that, the guys talk about live music, with a lot of excitement surrounding Korn’s eventual return for a full European headline tour, Architects’ huge support slot, and Marmozets’ ongoing, well-deserved comeback.
There’s also time for some serious music geekery, as the guys discuss whether some records should be left alone and the growing trend of fans remixing classic Metallica albums. Then, as they remember Phil Campbell, not just for his years in Motörhead, but also for the spirit he brought to everything he did, the atmosphere naturally becomes more contemplative. He was one of those people who seemed to live life to the fullest, funny, boisterous, grounded, and totally rock ‘n’ roll. RIP Phil Campbell.

Lamb of God drummer Art Cruz talks to Adam Whalley about the band's latest album, Into Oblivion, the development of his sound, and how the record combines traditional Lamb of God intensity with contemporary production.

Cruz explains how years of development, trust, and experience have shaped the band's new album, which feels like one of their "greatest hits." He explains the creative process behind the record and why flaws still matter in heavy music, from discovering his own drum identity inside Lamb of God to recording unprocessed, primarily analog drum performances. The guys also talk about the future of metal, how Santana and Slayer influenced his playing, the use of AI in music, and whether contemporary metal can still create the next wave of iconic bands.

Moose and Dews catch up again this week to discuss Moose's ongoing trials with his marathon training, some upcoming Primordial adventures, and the economics of the music industry, specifically gig tickets.
At time of recording Metallica have just *almost* sold-out their run of dates at The Sphere in Las Vegas, with the only remaining tickets being around $6k each!
It raises more significant questions about whether fans are gradually being priced out of the scene they love and what might happen to touring in the future if prices continue to rise? The guys also chat about future events such as Takedown Festival, the Metal For Good merchandise drive, and the upcoming Primordial Clubhouse Crawl.

Black Stone Cherry frontman Chris Robertson speaks to us about AI, their new EP Celebrate, and the battle to preserve grassroots venues.

In this interview, Chris talks about why they decided to release a seven-track EP rather than a full album and how the current rate of music consumption has altered how rock musicians are approaching writing and releasing music. They also chat about the expanding problems surrounding AI in creativity.
Robertson explains how technology can be helpful for daily tasks or inspiration, but he contends that it can never fully replace the emotional bond that is formed when actual musicians perform live. He still believes that music's human component cannot be replaced.

Welcome to the Primordial Radio Podcast! In news that comes as a shock to literally no-one, it turns out that training to run a marathon isn’t all plain sailing. Who’d have guessed?
Listen to Primordial Radio 24/7 👇

In the latest podcast, Moose shares some of the trials and tribulations of his marathon training, including his - possibly pointless - search for that elusive “runner’s high.”
The guys discuss gym milestones, the odd sensation of having time again after working multiple jobs, and the ongoing juggling act between work, parenting, and everything else life throws at you.
They also chat about some of the recent rock news, including a new frontman for Twisted Sister, and additional Las Vegas dates for Metallica, before digging into the potential possibilities for Ozzfest in the UK. It may be an uphill struggle, but if anyone can make it happen, our money is on Sharon Osbourne.

Welcome to the Primordial Radio Podcast! Moose and Dews are back this week catching up on Dews' birthday (which he may mention once or twice) in a bid to avoid the now-traditional, post-40 birthday existential crisis. We all get them, right?

In this interview, Josh speaks to Adam Whalley from a tour bus in Europe and reflects on where Sylosis currently sits in the metal scene in 2026, and why killer riffs will always matter more than chasing the current trend. He also talks about his early influences, why Korn’s “Good God” had a huge impact on him and was his gateway into heavy music, recalls Slipknot at Reading Festival 2000 as the best show he’s ever seen, and contrasts the chaotic energy of their early recordings with the hyper-polished production today.
