New track coming to PM, what podcasters can learn from Girl Scouts, and more! - January 24, 2018
It is that magical time of year. You know… that time of year between New Year’s and Valentine’s Day. It could be considered somewhat of a down time between major holidays, but it is all about perspective.

This past Saturday, I (Jared) took my 7-year-old daughter and her friend to a local playground. When we were walking up to the playground ready to have fun and check out all that this particular location had to offer, we were approached by 4 little girls in uniform. The girls represented Girl Scout Troop 10536 and they were on a mission. Their mission was to sell boxes of Girl Scout Cookies.

The Girl Scout Cookie sales experience can be a learning one for a few reasons.

First of all, the excitement that the cookies are back after such a long hiatus has most people excited. The scarcity has temporarily ended!

Also, seeing little girls hustle to raise money for their troop and other worthy causes is admirable. Who doesn’t want to support that in some shape or form? It is not uncommon to see people that may not have a desire to buy Girl Scout Cookies give in and purchase a box simply because they don’t want to say no, and possibly discourage the girls that are working so hard.

What can Podcasters learn from Girl Scout Cookies? We put together a few ideas from the overall Girl Scout Cookie experience that podcasters can relate to.

It’s graduation season! Congratulations to members of the PM17 family who have or a family member that has recently graduated! And while we could not be there in person for all the ceremonies, consider this week’s newsletter a graduation gift to you and yours!

This week we are proud to announce new speakers, a few classic/new session types coming to PM, and more!

    Entrepreneur Podcasters “Table for Three”

In a first-of-its-kind session at Podcast Movement, we debut the “Table for Three” format. Three podcasters with something in common share stories, lessons, what is working, what pitfalls to avoid, and a whole lot more in a “fireside chat” style session.

The first one of these we’re excited to feature is one for the business and entrepreneurial podcasters. Join JOHN LEE DUMAS, AMY PORTERFIELD and PAT FLYNN as they talk all things podcasting, as it relates to their online businesses!

Podcast Movement-Mania Runs Wild in 2017

BRUCE PRICHARD and CONRAD THOMPSON host the hit Something to Wrestle podcast on COURT BAUER’s MLW podcast network. What is so special about them? Conrad and Bruce have turned a glorified hobby into an undeniable powerhouse in the sports podcasting genre. The framework of each episode, audience call to actions, ad-reads and polls for future episodes are unique, and something that podcasters from every niche can learn from this summer!

Whether you’re looking to learn from business podcasters, wrestling podcasters or anywhere in between, we’ve got it at Podcast Movement!

    New & Unique Session Types
We are bringing the “back by popular demand” solutions stages, as well as introducing newly “requested” session types this summer in Anaheim!

    Interactive Stage
The “demo stage”. This is not a standard session with a slide deck and speaker, it is an actual demonstration of the “how-to-do-it”! These speakers will send you home knowing not only what to do, but how to do it!

    Podcast Movement presents the
Live Podcast Stage at Wrestlecon 2017!

Did you know that one of the most popular podcasting genres was professional wrestling? If not, that's okay, we won't bodyslam you...but one of the thousands of wrestlers and tens of thousands of wrestling fans joining us in Orlando this spring might!

Podcast Movement is excited to be partnering with WrestleCon, the world's largest wrestling fan convention. It takes place annually during WWE's WrestleMania weekend, which will be in Orlando, FL this March 31 and April 1.

Podcast Movement is the official sponsor of the Entertainment Stage, which will be filled throughout the weekend with great content including daily live Art of Wrestling Podcast with PM alumni Colt Cabana, as well as a series of classic wrestling greats/podcasters including Ric Flair, Sting, Shawn Michaels, Jim Ross and more!

Podcast Movement will also be co-hosting the podcast booth with our friends from Buzzsprout. If you'll be attending WrestleCon and want to record an episode live, learn more and book your spot here!

    PM Weekly - Jan 24
One of the most popular and most downloaded podcasts of all time is a show that does not have a large catalogue of episodes. In fact, oftentimes months go by between new episodes, yet it always manages to stay at the top of the charts. Not many podcasts can get away with this, but then again, calling HARDCORE HISTORY “just a podcast” would be doing a disservice to the works of art that each episode truly is.

We’ve attempted for three years to bring this podcaster to the PM stage with no success. However, now we are excited and honored to finally announce that DAN CARLIN will be a headline speaker in Anaheim this August at Podcast Movement 2017!
