    Dr. David D. Clarke, MD is a board-certified physician in internal medicine and gastroenterology, best known for his work on stress-related and brain-generated physical symptoms often referred to as neuroplastic or psychophysiologic conditions. After decades in traditional gastroenterology, he shifted his focus toward understanding how the brain, stress, and emotions can drive very real pain and illness in the absence of structural disease.


    In this conversation, Dr. Clarke explains neuroplastic symptoms and why pain without clear imaging or lab findings is still real and valid. He shares his personal journey from conventional GI practice to recognizing the brain’s role in physical symptoms, walks through case studies showing how unresolved stress and emotional patterns can manifest in the body, and discusses why stress evaluation, emotional awareness, and healthy boundaries are central to healing. He also points listeners toward practical resources for patients and practitioners seeking a better framework for understanding and treating neuroplastic conditions.
