The Philadelphia 76ers had their “Big 3” debut night ruined in more ways than one; they fell to the Grizzlies 117-111, had Tyrese Maxey on a strict minutes-restriction and lost Paul George in the 3rd Quarter with a hyperextended left knee.  

The Sixers’ much talked about team meeting showed a lot of positive effects on Joel Embiid who was reportedly called out by Tyrese Maxey for being late to team activities. Embiid responded by putting up a 35-point night in 35 minutes played. He also pulled down 11 rebounds.  

The Grizzlies’ three-point shooting proved to be the difference in the game as they knocked down 19-of-43 from beyond the arch.  

The excitement of Joel Embiid, Paul George and Tyrese Maxey playing together lasted barely a half as George hyper-extended his left knee in the early goings of tonight’s 3rd quarter. The Sixers’ key offseason acquisition hyper-extended the same knee in the preseason.

The Philadelphia 76ers lost to the Miami Heat 106-89 as Philly dropped to 2-11 on the season, tying them for the worst record in the NBA. 

Joel Embiid played 31 minutes despite an illness that kept his status as “doubtful” until just before tip off tonight.  

The 76ers opened a 19 point lead in the 2nd quarter, but then the wheels came off. Miami went on a 19-4 run that helped them pull to within three by half-time. Then the Heat opened the floodgates in the 3rd quarter, winning the quarter 35-16. Miami’s Tyler Herro scored 16 of his 18 points in the quarter.

The Philadelphia 76ers put up a great fight, but fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-106. With no Joel Embiid or Paul George and Tyrese Maxey still recovering from his hamstring injury, Jared McCain led the 76ers attack with a new career high 34-point night.

Despite the Sixers battle things started to fall apart for them in the 3rd quarter when they were outscored by the Cleveland Cavaliers 34 – 24. Then in the 4th Quarter Cavs’ guard Donovan Mitchell closed out the game scoring 11 of his 23 points in the final three minutes.
