“How To Be Black” by Baratunde Thurston, “Between the World and Me” by Ta-Nehisi Coates, “My Vanishing Country” by Bakari Sellers, “How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi, “Tears We Cannot Stop” by Michael Eric Dyson and “Letter from Birmingham Jail” by Martin Luther King (which you can read for free), or listen to Dr. King read it himself here.

During this time, if you want to support something, here are a few great charities that could use your support.
Black Lives Matter, George Floyd’s Family GoFund Me, The Minnesota Freedom Fund, and Black Visions Minnesota.

Welcome to Bold Moves Podcast Episode 355 Brian Crooks. In light of current uprisings seeking justice for Black men in the US being murdered by police who are unpunished, I did not feel comfortable sharing the podcast episode I had set aside for today. It seemed callous and tone deaf to share the story of a vivacious White woman living her best life (though I look forward to it someday, when it’s more appropriate!). I also didn’t want to ask a Black person to be a resource and potentially open deep wounds for White people. Regardless, Brian offered to come on the podcast to share his story and his experiences with being a Black man in America. I think we can all agree during this time, that in itself is a bold move.
Today, Brian joins us to provide some insight and first-hand experience. I hope if you are wanting to learn more or understand the struggles that have been going on, then you’ll enjoy Bold Moves Podcast Episode 355 Brian Crooks!
This podcast is available wherever you get your podcasts, like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, and Stitcher. It is also available in the post below! If you enjoy these episodes, subscribe, review, and share to help us reach more people!
