Some inspiration and wisdom from one creator to another.
If you find yourself consuming more than you're creating, remind yourself of the 80/20 rule - something not enough creators talk about.

Are you an independent artist trying to figure out which PRO to join — ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC? I break down the pros, cons, and genre strengths of each PRO, explain the hidden royalty streams most artists miss, and give my recommendation for the PRO that will maximize your income.
I’ve spent 20+ years in the Christian music industry (Warner Bros, Provident, Curb/Word) and helped my wife navigate independent royalties for decades — so I’ve seen what works and what costs artists money.
Watch until the end to find out which PRO captures the royalties most indie artists never see.

My summary of "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie.
I went from dreading speaking in public to an eager excitement about the opportunity to speak in front of others. I owe a great deal of that to reading "How To Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie for the first time at age 16.
My father enrolled me in a 12-week "Public Speaking and Human Effectiveness" class in Bridgewater, NJ in 1988 (can you guess my age?). Reading the book and engaging in the class - with a bunch of older adults much more scared than I was - was life-changing for me. Afterwards, I never had a problem getting a job, making a presentation, and interacting with people in social situations.
I gained so much favor with others just by applying the principles I learned in this book. In this episode, I summarize the key points of the book - sharing my personal experiences along the way.
This video is ideal for the creative entrepreneur who is looking to add the skill of speaking in public onto their talent stack.

555 Episodes! I revisit my guiding scripture in this process - Psalm 90:12 - "Teach us to number our days, so that we may gain a heart of wisdom." and discuss the Top Five Regrets of the Dying" that started it all in Episode 1 of this podcast.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart to everyone that's listened to this podcast over the last 6 years. Your involvement, your influence, and your inspiration have taken me farther than I ever dreamed possible. I have no regrets - only gratefulness.
I have no idea if after 5 months whether I'll be continuing this podcast or not, but I sure hope you'll stay connected to me at EricNordhoff.com either way.

I'm grateful to my sister-in-law, Maribeth Dodd, on the podcast. Maribeth is a leadership coach. She is a business coach of leaders in the corporate world, in network marketing, and in ministry. She shares vulnerability about balancing her work along with all of her other personal responsibilities. And, how sometimes the best place to be is a little bit scared.
