Ep. 5: Cristina has developed her business in the more recent years. Monster High, Mattel are still a foundation of her on-going VO work, and now… mobile games / apps, childrens' toys and audio books, sound-alike work. Having a great home studio is absolutely essential. Targeting companies you want to work with, and building the portfolio to show them, are key.

Cristina Milizia - League of Legends and more, started rockin' the mic at 8 years old. This is episodes 1, 2 and 3

Cristina Milizia - League of Legends and more, started rockin' the mic at 8 years old. This is episodes 1, 2 and 3 edited together one one episode. Enjoy!

This expanded, in-depth 3-in-1 episode interview with Cristina Milizia runs 1 hour and 20 min.  There is a second compilation of the rest of the interview with episodes 4, 5, and 6. Must.Listen.

In part one, we learn about her introduction to VO at age 8, her surprise at the LOL fan base, why how she decided to leave and then return to VO...

In part two, Cristina picks up from her University experience and working part-time at Jamba Juice and Starbucks. Finances became an issue for her and her family back at home. It was a huge dilemma and struggle. She made the call to go back to California. It was a pivotal decision. Cristina let everyone know she was back in NorCal! There was a question about her voice changing with age yet as she aged. Creativity Inc. was a creative services company that provided VO, music, sfx and more for toys and games, and Cristina got invited to work there in a salaried position as a voice talent. A.Huge.Boon. It was an incredible on-the-job education about voiceover. She stayed 6 years, ending as a voice talent coordinator. It was her initiation into doing VO as an adult, rather than little girl voices. She even got her first agent while she was there. Then, a big, dramatic, unexpected change in the course of her life. A terrible snowboarding accident leaving her lucky to be alive, with lots of physical damage and a wounded psyche.

In part 3, Cristina's life changes in a snowboard accident. She lost weight; suffered from mysterious pain. She saw doctor after doctor, stopped working at Creativity Inc., and went on disability. Cristina’s determination created her new path because the medical system failed her: She became a certified personal trainer so she could get her own answers to her physical problems.  Chronic pain, the ability to walk only half a block… Depression… She made decided that VO must provide her a full-time income.  Another crossroads… 86 pounds. Hair falling out. Essentially – she was dying. It was terrifying. She made a HUGE decision in her sobering reality...

Cristina Milizia has been a voice actress since the age of 8 and in the business for 23 years. Cristina is a veteran voice artist, bi-lingual with English and Spanish, singer, and working full time while now living in the Los Angeles area. Cristina’s very well known for her unique young and baby voices, and famous for League of Legends characters: Annie, Amumu & Nunu, while getting recent attention with her character Mari from Mattel's show "Monster High". Cristina is also President at Global Voice Acting Academy. Her website’s are cristinamilizia.com, her IMDB page, and globalvoiceacademy.com. And prior to her marriage, her former name was Cristina Ulloa. If you’re a huge fan, go to her website for autographed pics!
