Pick almost any scripture from the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price, and ask yourself if they read like the words of deceit, lunacy, or God.

Joseph Smith said, “…that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than any other book.”

Following the three-month period of translation between April and June 1829, Joseph Smith produced the manuscript of what would be printed and published the following year as the Book of Mormon, a book of over 500 printed pages. And not just any book—a book dictated in a continuous stream without notes, books, or reference materials, with layers upon layers of complexity.

How does an uneducated young man produce a complicated narration of multiple literary structures and styles, a web of hundreds of chronological and geographical references, multiple discernible authorship styles, hundreds of authorship shifts, language patterns and idioms of the Near East, and also fill the scores of gaps of truth missing from the Bible all in a continuous, unassisted, unedited flow of dictation in 60 days?

The Book of Mormon appearing on the scene within two months, containing what it contains, does not happen in the ordinary course of events without the intervention of a higher power.

Was Joseph Smith a prophet, or was he a lunatic or a fraud?

There is no dispute regarding the facts of the life and work of Joseph Smith. There is no disagreement as to what he did. Only disagreement as to why and how he did what he did.

How do you explain him? His critics say he was an impostor or deranged. Those are the options: he was a deceiver, or he was a lunatic, or he was what he said he was, a prophet of God.

No one but a lunatic or a prophet endowed with the powers of heaven could endure what he endured, experience what he experienced and never waver regarding the ultimate successful outcome of his labors.

Despite every setback and they were constant, despite every defeat, every obstacle, and every crushing blow of opposition, there is no hint he ever doubted the cause of Zion would triumph beyond anyone’s wildest imagination except his and God’s. He was not only a prophet but a seer who foresaw what no one else could have seen at the time—what we all now see in retrospect.

The Lord warned, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits.

Is Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Savior of the World?Except for knowing there is a God who is Our Eternal Father, nothing is more critical to our journey in life than knowing Jesus is the Christ. And except for the evidence that reveals God Our Father, no truth of primary importance is more evident than the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.Consider the reach of His influence. No one ever has had such a positive effect on more people than Jesus of Nazareth. No matter what sphere of human experience you consider, no matter what period you examine the influence of Jesus Christ looms larger and wholly overshadows all the combined influences of every other person and time combined.Knowing what has been prophesied from the beginning of time and that Jesus of Nazareth alone fulfills all that has been foretold, how can there be any doubt?
