You know who you are, what you’re worth, and you refuse to settle. You have to fight for what you want. And if someone won’t give it to you, they’re being mean to you. They’re taking advantage of you. Because you only want what’s fair, what’s right, what you deserve. You’ve heard people say you can be demanding and judgmental, but what’s wrong with having high standards? And if you don’t call people out, they’ll never get better. You’re doing them a favor.

You admire the incredible things others do, but that’s just not you. You’re not a risk taker. You can’t help but think of everything that could go wrong. Everybody wants to fit in. But if you want people to like you, you’re going to have to smile and nod and go along and help out. And you do. And people like that about you. You go out of your way to show others you care. But it’s exhausting. And it still feels like it’s not enough. You have more to do than you could ever get done, but you have to do it. Because the moment you don’t give people what they want, they won’t want you. And that’d be unbearable.

Everybody makes mistakes, but some of us can’t seem to move past them. We’re filled with regret. We can’t stop stewing over what we did…and should’ve done instead. You wish you could go back and do it over. But you can’t. And you’re going to have to live with that. It was your fault. You’re to blame. Even if others could forgive you, you’re not sure you could forgive you. The shame is so weighty, you’re not sure you’ll ever get out from underneath it.

Doing life on your own sounds strong. Handle it yourself. Don’t depend on anyone. Keep things personal and contained. Protect your space. But over time, that kind of strength turns into isolation. Carrying everything alone eventually wears you down. But God never designed faith or life to be lived in silos. From the beginning, it was all meant to be shared—supported, encouraged, and strengthened in community. What if the thing you’ve been asking God to change isn’t only about you and Him, but about who He wants to place around you? What if the breakthrough you’ve been praying for isn’t just spiritual—but relational?

Life rarely shrinks all at once. It just narrows over time. You start out with big hopes and honest questions, and somewhere between the bills, the deadlines, and the daily grind, survival quietly replaces vision. You stop dreaming out loud and start managing what’s right in front of you. And yet, every now and then, there’s that persistent thought: Is this it? What if your life isn’t meant to be measured by what you maintain, but by the meaning it carries?
