    Damn You Hollywood: Frankenstein (2025)
Frankenstein is a 2025 American Gothic science fiction film produced, written, and directed by Guillermo del Toro, based on the 1818 novel by Mary Shelley. The film stars Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein and Jacob Elordi as the Creature, with Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz in supporting roles. The story follows the life of Frankenstein, an egotistical scientist whose experiment in creating new life results in dangerous consequences.

Del Toro had long imagined a faithful Frankenstein film as a "dream project". This was initially in development for Universal Pictures, with del Toro casting frequent collaborator Doug Jones as the Creature, and Bernie Wrightson being considered for the monster's design. However, Universal suspended the project in relation to its planned Dark Universe franchise. Netflix revived the project in 2023, with Elordi instead portraying the Creature. Filming took place from February to September 2024. Wrightson had died in 2017, and the illustrated compilation Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein was a key inspiration for the film's look.

Frankenstein premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on August 30, 2025. It had a limited theatrical release in the United States from October 17 and was globally released on November 7 on Netflix. The film received generally positive reviews from critics. Both the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute named it as one of the top ten films of 2025. It received five nominations at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama.

Triple Feature: Christmas Chaos/Tromeo and Juliet/Frankenhooker
Tonight’s triple feature embraces the exact kind of weird that makes cinema fun. We open with Christmas Chaos! — a meta-documentary about the fictional StabaClaus franchise, built from chaotic behind-the-scenes lore and cast interviews. We’re doing it at Kathleen Benton’s request since she appears in the film, and if someone you know is in a piece of indie Christmas madness, you screen it.

From there, we dive straight into Troma: Tromeo and Juliet and Frankenhooker. These aren’t just cult films — they’re punk cinema at full blast. Gleeful, grotesque, DIY to the bone, and totally uninterested in prestige respectability.

Together, the three films form an accidental masterclass in joyful trash: fake slasher mythology, Shakespeare rewritten by lunatics, and a man who builds the perfect woman out of spare parts. A perfect Troma Christmas.

Damn You Hollywood: Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025)
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is a 2025 American supernatural horror film based on the video game series Five Nights at Freddy's created by Scott Cawthon and the sequel to the 2023 film adaptation. The film was directed by Emma Tammi and written by Cawthon. Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Theodus Crane, and Matthew Lillard reprise their roles from the previous film, with Freddy Carter, Skeet Ulrich, Wayne Knight, Mckenna Grace, and Teo Briones joining the cast. Set a year after the previous film, it follows Abby Schmidt (Rubio) as she reconnects with her animatronic friends, leading to events that reveal the origins of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

Cawthon stated in August 2018 that there could be a second Five Nights at Freddy's film, based on the events of the series' second video game, if the first film were successful. Hutcherson revealed the development of a sequel in January 2024, with Blumhouse Productions confirming it three months later. Principal photography began in November 2024 and concluded in February 2025 in New Orleans and surrounding communities.

Five Nights at Freddy's 2 premiered at the TCL Chinese Theater on December 2, 2025, and was released in the United States by Universal Pictures on December 5. The film received negative reviews from critics and was a commercial success, grossing $111 million worldwide against a budget between $36–51 million.

    Comic Stripped: Polar
In this episode of Comic Stripped, we dive into one of the wildest comic-to-film gaps ever: Victor Santos’ silent, minimalist noir Polar: It Came From the Cold and Netflix’s loud, neon-soaked action flick Polar starring Mads Mikkelsen. The comic is all style and silence—sharp lines, stark colors, and a cold assassin drifting through a dying world. The movie throws that out for explosive violence, cartoon villains, and a full John Wick makeover. We break down how the same character becomes two completely different stories, why the adaptation swings so hard away from the source, and what this says about Hollywood’s obsession with recreating Wick-style hits without understanding what makes them work.

TV Party Tonight: Hazbin Hotel (Season 2)
Hazbin Hotel is an American adult animated musical comedy television series created, directed, and executive-produced by Vivienne "VivziePop" Medrano.[1][4] The series revolves around Charlie Morningstar, crown princess of Hell, on her quest to find a way for sinners to be "redeemed" and allowed into Heaven via her "Hazbin Hotel" as an alternative to Heaven's annual "Extermination" of souls due to Hell's overpopulation. The series is produced by SpindleHorse in collaboration with A24, Amazon MGM Studios, and the animation studio Bento Box Entertainment.

Medrano began funding her work on Hazbin Hotel via Patreon in 2014. The pilot episode, released on YouTube on October 28, 2019, was made entirely by freelance animators, and was mainly financed by Medrano's Patreon followers.[6][7][8] The first season premiered on Amazon Prime Video on January 19, 2024,[9][b] with its first episode also released on YouTube a day earlier for a limited release.[10] The second season premiered on October 29, 2025, while a third and fourth season are confirmed to be in production. The series has received generally positive reviews from critics.

The popularity and success of the pilot allowed Medrano to create a spin-off series called Helluva Boss, which premiered on October 31, 2020. The series features a different cast of characters within the same in-universe setting. As of January 2024, Hazbin Hotel was the largest global debut for a new animated series on Prime Video. In February 2024, the pilot episode surpassed 100 million views on YouTube.

TV Party Tonight: Stranger Things (Season 4)
The fourth season of the American science fiction horror drama television series Stranger Things, marketed as Stranger Things 4, was released worldwide on the streaming service Netflix in two volumes. The first set of seven episodes was released on May 27, 2022, while the second set of two episodes was released on July 1, 2022. The season was produced by the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, along with Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, Iain Paterson and Curtis Gwinn.

Returning as series regulars are Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Cara Buono, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Matthew Modine and Paul Reiser, while Brett Gelman was promoted to series regular after recurring in the previous two seasons. Jamie Campbell Bower, Joseph Quinn, and Eduardo Franco joined the main cast. Mason Dye, Tom Wlaschiha, Sherman Augustus, Nikola Đuričko, and Joe Chrest appear in recurring roles.

The season was met with critical acclaim. Critics praised the performances (particularly those of Harbour, Brown, McLaughlin, Sink, Dyer, Keery, Bower, and Quinn), the visuals, action sequences, soundtrack, emotional weight, and the darker, more mature tone, though some criticized the season for feeling bloated and overstuffed due to its expanded cast and significantly longer episode runtimes.[1][2][3] The first volume of the season received 13 nominations for the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, including Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, winning five.

Damn You Hollywood: Wicked - For Good
Wicked: For Good (also known as Wicked: Part Two[c]) is a 2025 American musical fantasy film directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox. The sequel to Wicked (2024), it adapts the second act of the 2003 stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Holzman, which was loosely based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 novel, a reimagining of L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its 1939 film adaptation. Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum return from the first film. Set in the Land of Oz before and during the events of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the film explores the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda as they embrace their new identities as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Universal Pictures and Marc Platt, who both produced the stage musical, announced the film adaptation in 2012. After a long development and multiple delays, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Chu was hired as the director with Erivo and Grande cast in 2021. The adaptation was split into two parts to avoid omitting plot points and further develop the characters. Principal photography on both films began in December 2022 in England, was interrupted in July 2023 by the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, and resumed and concluded in January 2024.

Wicked: For Good premiered at the Suhai Music Hall in São Paulo on November 4, 2025, and premiered in the U.S. on November 17 at Lincoln Center in New York City, with a wider release in the United States on November 21. It was received less positively than its predecessor, and has grossed $223 million worldwide.

MHOD: Biohazard - Divided We Fall
Biohazard came out of late-’80s Brooklyn fusing NYHC, metal, and hip-hop before anyone had a name for it. Urban Discipline and Judgment Night made them global, turning street-level anxiety into breakout crossover without losing grit. After decades of lineup chaos and dormancy, the original four reunited, hit the road, and recorded Divided We Fall—a deliberate return to their core sound: short songs, big gang-vocal hooks, and lyrics about a fractured world that finally caught up to what they were yelling in the ’90s. Critics mostly agree it lands: some call it their best since State of the World Address, others hear a strong, no-frills comeback that proves Biohazard still matters. It isn’t reinvention; it’s reclamation—four men older, angrier, and right on time.
