Daredevil Born Again 208 "The Southern Cross" Details

Executive Producers are Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Dario Scardapane

    Directed by Iain B. MacDonald

Written by Dario Scardapane & Jesse Wigutow

    Episode Synopsis:

As Karen Page's trial continues, Matt Murdock calls his first witness, Mayor Wilson Fisk. Matt presents the video testimony of the late Christofi Savva, who confirms that the Captain scuttled the ship on the orders of the Mayor because Daredevil was aboard and found the illegal weapon shipment.

District Attorney Hochburg pushes to disregard the testimony of Christofi because he isn’t in the courtroom, so Matt reveals that he is Daredevil. He corroborates the testimony and gets the case dismissed since the entire programme from the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, to the safer streets act, to the court itself was set up to divert attention from the criminal Wilson Fisk.

Outside the courtroom Bullseye foils Mayor Fisk’s backup plan by stopping the AVTF officers from assassinating Murdock. Instead Bullseye takes a shot at Fisk, but hits Buck Cashman.

The attack prompts Fisk to lock down the courthouse. With his AVTF standing guard, Daredevil's supporters surround the building, encouraged by BB Urich to rise up in memory of all their friends and neighbours lost to the AVTF and Fisk’s laws so far.

As the threats from Officer Powell escalate, Cole North finally turns on him as he becomes disillusioned with his orders to kill retired detective Cherry. He lets the resistance into the courthouse as the Attorney General of New York state offers Fisk a deal to avoid charges. But, unwilling to step down, Wilson Fisk attacks and kills numerous protestors.

Eventually Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Angela DelToro fight their way through the AVTF officers until they reach Fisk. Matt eventually convinces Fisk to take the deal.

In the aftermath, Fisk leaves New York, the AVTF officers are arrested, Heather Glenn continues to spiral as she puts on Muse's mask and Jessica Jones reunites with Luke Cage, as Bullseye has replaced him in Mr. Charles's service. At the New York Bulletin BB Urich is hired by Mitchell Ellison and given a box of her uncle Ben’s reports to welcome her to the team.

As Matt Murdock and Karen Page fantasize about living a normal life together Matt is arrested and imprisoned for his actions as Daredevil.

    The Boys Podcast 505 Review

The reunion we have been waiting for years for this week in The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 One-Shots. We get the Supernatural team back together but The Boys is not content with just a reunion we get massive cameos, huge deaths and deep into the mind of Terror. As the show gets into the last four episodes we discuss it all in spoiler filled detail.

The Boys Season 5 Episode 5 One-Shots Synopsis

Head Writer and Developed by - Eric Kripke

Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

    Episode written by: Judalina Neira

    Episode directed by: Phil Sgriccia

Synopsis: Firecracker is asked by her former reverend for help after his church is vandalized, because he won’t move to the teachings of the Democratic Church of America. When the church is later raided and the Pastor arrested, a troubled and torn Firecracker gives a defamatory news report about him.

Meanwhile, Black Noir struggles not only with his partnership with The Deep, but also with his identity as he tries to balance being in The Seven with his commitments to a local theater group. As tensions rise, The Deep kills the play director, Adam Bourke, a la Conger Eel as he reasserts his control over Black Noir.

At the Boys makeshift laboratory Frenchie continues to develop the virus while Mothers Milk searches for Bombsite and the remaining V1. After a close call between chocolate and his beloved dog Terror, Butcher finally agrees that he will allow Annie and Kimiko to take it when (if) they find it.

Back at Vought Tower Sister Sage warns Ashley that Homelander must not obtain V1. When Ashley asks what the angle is, Sister Sage says peace! More specifically her own peace and quiet with a book and no longer harassed by Homelander. To do this she is planning World War Supe to ensure humans and Supes ultimately kill each other. She needs back-Ashley’s help finding out Soldier Boy's plans and as a reward Bashley and Ashley will be allowed to join Sage in her bunker.

In the basement, Homelander and Soldier Boy interrogate Stan Edgar, who points them to Mister Marathon, a former member of the Seven now residing in Los Angeles. Mister Marathon and his friend Malchemical try to turn Soldier Boy against Homelander after Malchemical incapacitates him, but he refuses and kills Malchemical. During a pursuit, Marathon accidentally kills his celebrity friends running into them at every step of the way. Soldier Boy finally brings him to a halt with lots and lots of Daddy Puff’s baby oil and incapacitates him with a heavy dose of snap, crackle and pop of his breaking bones. After getting confirmation from Mister Marathon that Bombsight has V1, Homelander kills him.

Back at Vought Tower, after learning Firecracker has been sleeping with his father and also the nature of her post-coital chit chat and Firecracker’s doubts, Homelander asks her to pack her bags and go. Firecracker pleads with him for her to stay saying she is the only one that has ever loved him. As she pushes it too far Homelander makes her a permanent feature of Vought Tower as he kills her. Death by eagle wing, as he pins her head to the right wing of an all American bald eagle.

Synopsis: Following his epiphany Homelander tasks Firecracker to present him as the one true god to the people. Needing help she involves Supes Worm, Ashley, her bankrupt evangelical husband, Oh Father and snarker PR lead, Courtney, to come up with a plan.

The Boys, still without the virus, go to Fort Harmony to find V1, the virus resistant original version of the drug which gives Supes their powers.

There an airborne virus pits the team against each other with Hughie, Butcher, MM and Kimiko all at each other’s throats. Only Frenchie is immune due to his past drug abuse.

When they reach the safe at Fort Harmony they find no remaining V1 vials and they suspect that the Supe Bombsight has recently taken all vials of the V1 that were there but don’t know why.

Homelander and Soldier Boy are also in search of the V1 at Fort Harmony. Homelander mocks him, saying he injected himself with V1 because he felt inferior to his brother; Soldier Boy locks Homelander in a chamber of enriched uranium to prevent him from getting V1, which he intends to destroy.

Frenchie finds the source of the toxoplasmosis and takes Soldier Boy to it, revealing it is Quinn, with whom he had a past. After Frenchie provokes him, Soldier Boy kills Quinn, returning everyone to normal. Homelander breaks out of the chamber and spares Soldier Boy's life after seeing him broken at killing Quinn.

Meanwhile Annie meets her father, who admits he always loved her, and asks her to keep her loved ones close to keep her humanity which prompts her to reunite with Hughie.

    Directed by Angela Barnes

Written by  Devon Kliger & Jesse Wigutow

    Episode Synopsis:

Wilson Fisk mourns the loss of his beloved wife Vanessa. When her surgeon tries to empathise and comfort the mayor, he uses his immense strength to kill the man who didn’t save her.

Furious that the vigilantes are still on the loose, Fisk lets his Anti-Vigilante Task Force move Mr. Charles's weapons to their own warehouse for their use on the streets of New York. An angry Mr. Charles offers his services to Governor McCaffrey to help Mayor Fisk from office.

Mr. Charles also sends men to attack Jessica Jones, a super-powered investigator who turned down an offer to work for him. Jessica easily overpowers them, protecting her daughter Danielle, and goes to the AVTF warehouse with Daredevil to destroy their stolen weapons.

At the funeral for Vanessa, Buck Cashman tells Daniel Blake to feed BB Urich false information to test her loyalty and encourages Heather Glenn to imitate Muse's actions to free herself from the trauma his attack has had on her.

Meanwhile, back at their hideout Karen Page nearly murders Bullseye but is stopped by Matt Murdock. They argue, with Karen believing they have not only the right but the obligation to murder both Fisk and Bullseye because of what they have done.

BB decides not to leak the information and almost kisses Daniel, but he confronts her about the previous leaks and reveals that he knows she’s connected to the City Without Fear broadcasts.

Back in New York Karen Page joins a protest outside City Hall and shares the testimonies from the Red Hook prisoners onto the building urging them to Resist and Revolt.

Matt Murdock visits Wilson Fisk at his own hideout and suggests they both leave New York to have peace, but Fisk refuses and they fight. Murdock wins but a broken Fisk asks what he will do, he can't arrest him and he WILL not kill him.

During the protest, lead officer Powell kills young AVTF agent Saunders, who he had suspected of feeding information to Daredevil, and blames vigilantes. As gunfire rises causing chaos around City Hall, Karen Page loses her wig and is caught by the trigger happy officer Powell.

    Invincible Season 4 Finale Review

We have done it, Chris and Derek reach the finale of the season to discuss Invincible Season 4 Episode 8 Don't Leave Me Hanging Here. A somber and highly intense close to another excellent season.

Invincible 406 Don't Leave Me Hanging Here Synopsis

Created by: Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Cory Walker

    Episode Written by: Simon Racioppa

    Directed by: Ian Abando

Mark, Nolan, and Tech Jacket race back to Earth, but despite Mark’s worst fears they find it intact.

As Mark reunites with his mother, Eve, and his friends, he experiences hallucinations of Thragg killing them individually as retribution for the destruction of the Viltrumite home world.

Nolan revisits the crater where he pummeled Mark and is confronted by a distrustful Cecil, who urges Nolan to get the Coalition to arrive quickly if the Viltrumites arrive on Earth.

Debbie and Paul mutually end their relationship, while Eve tearfully informs Mark that she aborted her pregnancy in fear of having to raise the baby alone. She didn't know what else to do.

Debbie goes to Talescria with Nolan to care for Oliver, while Mark leisurely flies alone at Eve’s suggestion to relieve his anxieties, only to add to them when he encounters Grand Regent Thragg high over planet Earth.

Thragg informs Mark that the remaining 37 Viltrumites are indeed on Earth, secretly living among humans to repopulate; he threatens to destroy the planet if they are disturbed, but promises that they will not interfere positively or negatively with humans if they are left alone.

After realising he really has no choice at all, Mark reluctantly agrees to his terms.

Meanwhile, The Great Allen receives a post-mortem message from Thaedus for his eye only. In the message he is instructed to use the perfected Scourge Virus to eliminate the remaining Viltrumites, even though it may also be lethal to Mark's people.

The Boys Podcast Season 5 Episode 3

Lots of father and son discussions and Derek and John chat all about The Boys Season 5 Episode 3 Every One Of You Bitches. The officially unofficial Boys Podcast returns to chat all about the third episode of the final season of The Boys in spoiler filled detail.

The Boys Season 5 Episode 3 Every One of You Synopsis

Head Writer and Developed by - Eric Kripke

Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

    Episode written by: Ellie Monahan

    Episode directed by: Karen Gaviola

Synopsis: Vought cleans up Soldier Boy's image and he becomes a member of The Seven. Sister Sage reveals that the first version of Compound V, V1, which Soldier Boy has, slows the aging process so much that it makes him practically immortal. This prompts Homelander, after an angelic hallucination of Madelyn Stillwell, to pursue a vial of the legendary compound V. V1.

Meanwhile, the Boys, with Stan Edgar's help, locate a base where V1 may be located. Butcher finds Ryan and gets Ryan to agree that he will kill Homelander with the virus, even though it will kill both Butcher and Ryan in the process.

Elsewhere, Zoe Neuman, still angry at Butcher for killing her mother, also finds out that her father, Sameer, is still alive. As they leave Butcher’s makeshift laboratory they destroy the remaining samples of the virus.

The Deep, Cindy, Dogknott, and Black Noir II are after Stan Edgar for Homelander and arrive at his bunker. After getting inside, thanks to Maverick, Translucent’s son (who finally knows the truth about Hughie’s role in his killing), Noir captures Edgar. But in the game of the Seven, Deep betrays him, knocking him out, so that he can take Edgar to Homelander himself. In the fight at the bunker, meanwhile, Maverick confronts Hughie and in the fight Cindy kills Maverick and Annie kills Cindy.

Against Butcher’s advice, and without the virus, Ryan confronts Homelander about raping his mother, Becca, which leads to a violent fight that leaves Ryan badly injured.

As the Boys plan to find the V1 near the site of an old base called Fort Harmony, Annie takes off and leaves them, while Butcher finds the wounded Ryan.

    Episode Synopsis:

Years prior, while working as interns at Landman & Zack, Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson are assigned a criminal case involving one of Nelson's childhood neighbors, Lionel "Ray" McCoy.

The pair get McCoy released and Foggy “the Fembot” gives him their future fund savings so he can make a fresh start. However, McCoy narrowly avoids a young Buck Cashman, who had been hired to kill him by Fisk's fixer at the time, James Wesley. Wesley also arranges for an art gallery to serve as one of Fisk's fronts, leading him to meet Vanessa.

In the present, Daredevil helps the wounded Dex escape from the AVTF. Despite the latter's pleas to let him die, Daredevil is inspired by the memory of Foggy's selflessness and takes Bulleye to recover at the Punisher’s hideout where Karen Page is less than impressed.

After Daniel Blake leaks Vanessa's status to BB Urich, Cashman tests his loyalty by forcing him to drive them to Albany to bury Christofi's body.

Invincible Season 4 Episode 7 Review

Derek and Chris chat all about the penultimate episode of Invincible Season 4 Episode 7 Don't Do Anything Rash in full spoiler filled detail.

Invincible 407 Don't Do Anything Rash Synopsis

Created by: Robert Kirkman, Ryan Ottley, Cory Walker

    Episode Written by: Helen Leigh

    Directed by: Stephanie Gonzaga

Thousands of years ago when the Relonian’s began an uprising against their Viltrumite oppressors the leaders argued over what was to be done. A younger Thaedus argues that their strength should not be punished but their leader Argyll is unmoved ordering 25% of their race be destroyed.

Before the plan can be enacted Thedeus assassinates Argyll and flees the planet. Determined to root out the perceived weakness that caused his glorious leader’s death, the new regent Thragg orders all Viltrumites to destroy all weakness they find, leading to the murder of millions. Only the strong survive.

In the present day, Theadus leads a team of the coalition's strongest warriors including Nolan, Mark, Oliver, Allan, Tech Jacket and Space Racer to the planet Viltrum. He hopes to catch and kill Thragg and a small group of Viltrumites before they’ve had time to regroup and leave the race leaderless.

But they were prepared and both groups battled furiously against each other. Thragg makes one last offer to Nolan to come back to the Viltumite side and all will be forgiven. The planet is everything that they represent. Unable to beat the Viltrumites in the battle Nolan, Thaedus and Mark follow an Infinity Bolt from Space Racers weapon through the core of Viltrum destroying the planet and its legacy.

Furious, Thragg unleashes his power on the team, taking Thaedus head and Oliver’s jaw declaring he’s a mistake adding nothing to the Viltrumite race. He leaves Nolan beaten unconscious and is stopped short of killing Mark. Realising they’ve lost too many.

Weeks later Mark is awakened by Allan, the new leader of the Coalition of Planets. Allan has been tasked to find and retrieve the missing Viltrumites but as they discuss their plans Mark realises the superpowered beings are on their way to Earth.

The Boys Podcast Season 5 Episode 2

John and Derek chat all about The Boys Season 5 Episode 2 Teenage Kix. The officially unofficial Boys Podcast returns to chat all about the second episode of the final season of The Boys in spoiler filled detail.

The Boys Season 5 Episode 2 Teenage Kix Synopsis

Head Writer and Developed by - Eric Kripke

Based on the comic series from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson

Executive Producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

    Episode written by: Jessica Chou

    Episode directed by: Shana Stein

Synopsis: Butcher leads the rest of the Boys to a laboratory, where Dr. Sameer Shah has perfected the virus to take out Homelander. Before they can be sure of the efficacy of the virus they need to do a test and plan to expose Rock-Hard from Teenage Kix to the virus. They intended to kidnap Rock Hard but he has become so massive they are forced to test the virus at Teenage Kix's crib.

Following A-Train’s funeral, Homelanders self-centred introspection makes him realise his isolation and that only powerful can understand the powerful, so he awakens Soldier Boy from cryostasis for paternal reasons (I mean tactical reasons) and orders him to find Butcher in exchange for clearing his name.

As Hughie, Butcher, and Kimiko get the virus from the lab they encounter Soldier Boy on their way back to Kix's Crib, forcing them to flee. Hughie and Kimiko race to get the virus to Frenchie, Starlight and MM who have been readying Rock Hard and the crib for the test; while Butcher lures Soldier Boy towards the crib as well as he sees an opportunity to test the virus on Homelander’s father.

As Soldier Boy goes after Butcher he is accompanied by Teenage Kix members Jetstreak and Sheline, who have been rounding up Starlighters in the neighbourhood. Chasing down and confronting Kimiko, Sheline is knocked out while Jetstreak pursues and catches Hughie where he flies high to drop Hughie. Saved by Starlight, Hughie gets the virus to the house, just as Soldier Boy and Jetstreak arrive. Inside, the two supes are tricked to go after Hughie but it is Frenchie who releases the virus, killing Jetstreak, Rock-Hard, and seemingly Soldier Boy.

The team make it back to their laboratory where Sameer tells them the virus does not transmit to humans allowing Frenchie and Kimiko to be reunited. While Frenchie wants her to leave because of the virus's lethality, she refuses. Both Kimiko and also Starlight are all in on the plan despite the risk to them from the virus.

Back at the crib as Vought scientists begin to decontaminate the scene Homelander arrives and is devastated by the sight of the seemingly dead Soldier Boy as he turns and leaves, Soldier Boy suddenly awakens inside his bodybag.
