076 - Justin Richardson - Volunteering your time and services as an allied health professional
Justin is a Physiotherapist from Sydney who has worked within many sporting settings throughout his career so far. One of today's biggest issues in allied health and sport is the constant battle between opportunity and developing further experience and the level of commitment and remuneration. Often there are volunteer positions advertised for health professionals with many years of experience and qualifications, and there is some pushback starting to form because of it.
Together Justin Richardson and Andrew Zacharia discuss the balance between when volunteering your time may be worth it compared to when it may feel like you're being taken advantage of. There are some realities with working within semi-elite and elite sporting organizations as well as amateur clubs in the local community, so being able to provide the filter for context is key!
