Ep 1089 - Courtney Cronin of ESPN
GC welcomes Courtney Cronin, IU alumna and ESPN Chicago Bears reporter, to the podcast. We talk about her background as a Chicago-area native, her time at Indiana as a student and media member, and her gradual progression through the sports media landscape before reaching the Worldwide Leader in Sports.

At the 28:00 minute mark we talk about NFL draft coverage, the environment in Chicago surrounding the team, and the ways in which local knowledge helps coverage.

The show goes pretty deep into work-life balance, the sports media grind and the sorts of things that go through the minds of the people who cover the games. We talk about Courtney's experiences on Around The Horn, her proximity to the filming locations of The Bear, and why JJ McCarthy is getting talked about as a top six pick. Plus we talk about a bunch of other things! It was a wide-ranging conversation that I thoroughly enjoyed, hopefully you will too.

Ep 1086 - The Indiana Basketball Culture War, plus some portal talk
On this episode of CrimsonCast, Scott and the doctor talk about Purdue's appearance in the national title game and the larger implications it might have for Indiana basketball's place in the state. We discuss the implications of the last 30 years of basketball in the state, the decisions made by both programs, and the concerns that IU might have for the near future in terms of its place within the hearts and minds of basketball people in the state.

We then talk about IU's forays into the portal as they currently stand, the issues that the Hoosiers are facing in terms of timetable and tasks, and whether or not concerns about the lack of portal commits are justifiable at this stage.

    Ep 1083 - Friday Thoughts
A solo podcast today, as the doctor talks through some items of interest to Indiana athletics. 5 Star recruit Bryson Tucker committed to Indiana men's basketball on Thursday, so there's some talk of that recruitment, the benefits of Tucker's game, and how he might fit into IU's system.

Also discussed is IU's system. What are they going to do next year? A lot of it depends on what happens in the next two weeks, and that whole process gets discussed.

The Sweet 16 is happening, and on the men's side, an interesting trend has started to emerge regarding offense vs defense. How does IU fit into that paradigm, and how much further do the Hoosiers have to go to compete at the levels we saw on Thursday night?

Finally, the IU women have a Sweet 16 matchup of their own this evening as they take on top overall seed South Carolina. Some thoughts on what IU has to do to stay in the game and win it, alongside some perspective on where Indiana has succeeded and struggled so far this season.
