The past week has been a weird one for Michigan football, losing many backup linebackers to the transfer portal, and a few others. But with the transfer portal now closed for undergrads (for the time being) we discuss how the Wolverines have ended up to this point. Yes, Michigan has lost 17 transfers, but maybe only two or three were expected to be contributors in 2024. 

With that in mind, we then look to the 2023 class and why it's starting to resemble that of 2018 and its insane hit rate on high-quality players. How that class could determine this year's success.

Finally, Michigan did get an incoming transfer, with former Youngstown State wide receiver C.J. Charleston opting to come from Ohio to Ann Arbor.

While Michigan football didn't break the NFL draft record for most players taken by a single school in one draft, the Wolverines did break a school record and were often the talk of the draft (if not the town, since it was held in Detroit, Michigan this year). Last year, PFF college football analyst Max Chadwick joined the show and made some bold proclamations, which ended up coming true -- he predicted that Michigan football would win the 2023 national championship. The first of Michigan football's NCAA investigations has been concluded and the penalties aren't exactly severe for the Wolverines.
