Peak Off Season | WUW 515
A true friendship podcast episode for those that have listened for a long time. the Iowa football specific content is sparse in this one, but Kevin, Grant, and Kluver put together an hour of fun and entertainment for the Walkon Army. We discuss a minimum transfer package from the Swarm, why the team sometimes has too many players on scholarship, the Spring semester compared to the Season relative to workload and physical demand, the upcoming NFL Draft, We talk Iowa's incoming OL transfer, and the outgoing Jacob Bostick, intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation, we check in with where Kevin would currently rank in the Air Force had he gone there out of high school, we discuss the world record Beer mile, and some other random dumb stuff.

    Jeremiah Sirles | WUW 514
Sirles joins the show once more to further his Title as most frequent Walkon guest. His appearances on the show are nearing double digits and this episode solidifies why that is, as he is not only a former guy in the locker room at Nebraska and in the NFL with vast knowledge and experience as a player, but also provides great insight into NIL, the draft process, and much more from his current venture as an NFL agent. We discuss what his draft class looks like, the 'recruiting' process that a player goes through as they near a career in the NFL, what kind of financial incentives are tossed at guys who are going to get drafted, and how the relationships between training facilities, agents, and athletes get complicated. We also discuss what the future of College Football's structure might look like as a whole, the issues that the developing scene is going to cause with Title IX, workers comp, pay to play etc., and what control the NCAA actually has. We get a short report on how the Huskers are looking in Spring as well and if they could be a .500 ball club this fall for the first time in ages.

    David Eickholt | WUW 513
David joins the show for his 3rd or 4th time. He is an inside with 247 Sports and a beat writer for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He just got home from Cleveland and from covering the end of this historic 2 year run by the Iowa Women's Basketball team, and thats where we start. We debrief the run the women had, talk about his thoughts covering Caitlin the past 4 years, the Wright Thompson article that was written about her, and more. Then we discuss what the Iowa Women could do moving forward relative to the transfer portal, the recruiting classes of the next 2 years, and beyond. We also talk football as David dives into the 5th and final week of Spring Football for the Hawks. He gives us the scoop on the early reports on new OC Tim Lester, his thoughts on where the offense could ascend to and what that means record wise for the Hawks, and a few players to look out for this fall.

    Steve Manders | WUW 512
Steve is from Crofton, MD and joined the 2013 Iowa Football recruiting class as a Fullback out of Archbishop Spalding HS as a fellow Walkon. One of those unsung heroes Steve didn't see any action on the field but busted his ass day in and day out as an Iowa Hawkeye behind the scenes, and after our 4th season hung up the cleats for the career that he said he would always pursue, and is fully enveloped in today, Pro Wrestling. Steve tells us about his journey in the wrestling world over the last 7 years going from shows in front of a couple of people for 5 dollars a night, to now wrestling multiple times a weekend in front of crowds 500 people deep all across the country and internationally as well. He takes us through some of his more wild moments in the ring, his favorite places to put on a show, his time in Germany, the odds we see him wrestling in Japan in the future, and a whole lot more.

Thank You, Iowa Women's Basketball | WUW 510
The Hawks defeated UConn in dramatic fashion in the Final Four to advance and take on South Carolina in the National Title game. Their 2nd straight appearance to the championship game where no one thought they would ever go once, let alone twice. They fell short against the Gamecocks, but overdelivered in bunches when it comes to what this team has done for the Iowa brand, school, and fanbase over the last 2 seasons. We sit down to briefly break down the game, but more so celebrate and appreciate this run that we have all been on.

Back To The FINAL FOUR | WUW 509
An instant reaction show of sorts as we sit down to record immediately after the clock struck zeroes on the historic Iowa v LSU rematch. We discuss our opinions on if we thought Iowa could get this done, why the better team isn't always the one with better individual players, and why Iowa can win it all if Caitlin plays like that 2 more times. We talk about O'grady giving huge minutes with Stuelke in foul trouble, Gabbie Marshall and Sydney Affolter putting on a conditioning clinic and how difficult that is to do why still being scoring threats, and more. More than anything we sit and enjoy the experience of following our Hawkeyes to the top of the WBB world over these last 2 seasons.

    Brad Heinrichs | WUW 508
Brad makes his 3rd appearance on the show to give us some updates on the Swarm Collective. Brad was the spearhead for Iowa's primary NIL collective back in 2021 and the Swarm has continued to grow since then. With the recent Kadyn Proctor situation causing outrage and drama across not only the Iowa fanbase, but the country as well, we thought it would be a great time to sit down again with Brad to decipher the ins and outs of how the collective works, how much money Proctor got and from where, if he will keep that money, the issues at large with NIL as it stands today, and a whole lot more.

    Justin Lima | WUW 507
Justin is from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He was one of the 5 Asst. Strength Coaches during the Walkons time in Iowa City, from 2013 to 2017. As we graduated and left the program he did some of the same as he was hired as the Head Strength Coach at Towson University out East. He served in that role for 5 years until recently moving back to the Des Moines area. We go deep into the nerdy nitty gritty of strength and conditioning, what its like to be an assistant in the strength world, working your way up to higher roles, leading your own program, and all of the contrast between Iowa and Towson like resources, athletes, equipment, timing, schedules, and more.

    Garret Jansen | WUW 506
Garret is from Pella, Iowa. His dream to play college football was always there, but his path to Iowa City as a Hawkeye wasn't one without drama. He details his wacky recruiting timeline, his less than 24 hour commitment to UNI, and finally choosing Iowa. He talks about his transition into College football, why it was difficult for him to gain weight and in turn find more playing time, what it was like to be a punt protector, and more. We discuss his eventual decision to transfer out of the program, and join the Minnesota State Mavericks for his final year of eligibility.

    Logan Lee | WUW 505
Logan is from Orion, Illinois. In this episode we dive deep into what makes him tick, and actually spend very little time on his football specific career as a Hawkeye. This was one of the easiest most flowing episodes we have ever done and we could have talked for another 4 hours. Logan is an incredibly intelligent and insightful guy, who is seriously devoted to his faith, his football, and human optimization. We discuss what he has to do to maintain his bodyweight, his favorite books, how his faith has guided his career, what he hopes to accomplish at the next level, and a whole host of other topics.
