Robert Gasser's electric debut, two big bombs and Christian Yelich's return, plus an interview with Joey Ortiz (05.13.2024)
Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe revisit a 4-3 week for the Brewers, one with a number of highlights, including an excellent debut start from pitcher Robert Gasser on Friday. Plus, Rhys Hoskins and Willy Adames deliver big-time home runs, Christian Yelich is back and mashing yet again, and the St. Louis Cardinals look ... bad. What's up with Jackson Chourio (and Joey Ortiz) getting held out of the starting lineup. Remembrew When looks back at the Happy Youngster and Curt's Take of the Week is tackling a Sunday send.

Then, JR is joined by Joey Ortiz, who discusses the circumstances that brought him to Milwaukee and the origin of his Packers fandom.

The umpires have a highly notable week, plus a reunion with Craig Counsell and interviews with Tobias Myers and Ben Rortvedt (05.06.2024)
The Brewers were in Wrigley Field to take on the Cubs and old manager Craig Counsell, but by then the story of the week had been written. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe discuss a turbulent Rays series featuring some controversial umpiring, a brawl, a debut for top prospect Tyler Black and Rickie Weeks as manager. Then came the Cubs series, a somewhat dispiriting series loss.

Remembrew When and Curt Blanche are also discussing brawls before JR has an interview with rookie pitcher Tobias Myers (49:00) on his first couple appearances in the big leagues and a fascinating minor-league career arc. After that, it's Verona High School alumnus Ben Rortvedt (58:00), who started all three games for the Rays at American Family Field and has found a big-league footing after a litany of injuries sidetracked him.

Brewers pitching staff gets thinner, and an interview with reliever Bryan Hudson (04.29.2024)
The Milwaukee Brewers were able to finish the week 3-4, but it wasn't a great overall stretch, if for no other reason that the team is down yet another starting pitcher (and this time for the whole season). Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe once again try to figure out how Milwaukee can piece it together, especially with Joe Ross struggling, too. The offense has a slow week but does enough for a split in Pittsburgh, followed by a thrilling walk-off win against the Yankees, but then a lot goes wrong (including a mis-Judged play by the umpires Sunday).

Remembrew When goes back to 1979 for another unforgettable walk-off against the Yankees, and Curt Blanche reminds us what's ahead: the Brewers' first games against the Chicago Cubs and former manager Craig Counsell.

Then, JR chats with reliever Bryan Hudson, one of the biggest bright spots of the 2024 season thus far. They discuss his Illinois upbringing, his sidearm delivery and, yes, about his height.

What's next for DL Hall? Pitching staff holding it together, offense doing enough and a chat with Blake Perkins (04.22.2024)
The Milwaukee Brewers offense had another breakout day Saturday, part of a week that featured a series win in St. Louis. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss the success, including the excellence of Brice Turang and Blake Perkins moving closer toward that elusive "sustainable" category, plus the MVP-caliber start by catcher William Contreras. But what about the pitching, specifically embattled starter DL Hall? And is it a problem the way new manager Pat Murphy deploys his bullpen dissimilarly from his predecessor, Craig Counsell?

Remembrew When (52:50) revisits a bullpen game that nearly turned into a no-hitter in 1988, and Curt Blanche (54:10) looks at the Cardinals ... just what are they doing, exactly?

Then, JR sits down with outfielder Blake Perkins (1:04:15), who's off to a hot start. They discuss his unusual path to the big leagues, his elite center-field defense and his fully updated LinkedIn page.

Offense on fire out of the gate, so which parts are sustainable? (04.15.2024)
The Milwaukee Brewers' offense is en fuego. Before a competitive loss against old friend Corbin Burnes on Sunday, the team rattled off six straight games scoring at least seven runs, going 4-2 on the road in Cincinnati and Baltimore to move to 10-4 thus far, the best record in the National League. Which parts could be real, and what are the areas of concern? Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Todd Rosiak joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss a rematch with Burnes, an injury to Christian Yelich, the return of Wade Miley, a series of bad breaks in the minor leagues, Blake Perkins going above and beyond but also some players who are laboring out of the gate. Remembrew When explores a similar hot offensive run in 1989, plus Todd's Take of the Week.

The Milwaukee Brewers need to find some pitching, but they're off to a great start. Plus a chat with DL Hall (04.08.2024)
The Milwaukee Brewers have to be happy with a 6-2 start to the season, but how sustainable is the success on the mound with the pitching staff low on reliable arms? Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe dig into the situation and how injuries have left the team without many reliable rotation options. But there's also plenty to like, including an offense that's held its own, a rookie phenom belting his first two career home runs and the first walk-off win (literally) of 2024.

Remembrew When (49:35) looks back at another prominent Brewers debut from an ultra young player 50 years ago, and Curt's take of the week looks at the MLB-wide uniform fiasco now that it's found its way to Milwaukee (55:05).

Then, JR is joined by new Brewers pitcher DL Hall, one of the two players who came to the Brewers from Baltimore in the Corbin Burnes trade (1:07:30)

The Brewers are 3-0, and welcome to the home opener (04.02.2024)
Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe look back at a wildly successful weekend in New York, where the Brewers swept the Mets to open the series 3-0 for the first time since 2018. Now comes the home schedule, beginning Tuesday against the Twins. They discuss a dust-up between Rhys Hoskins and the Mets, a promising start for Jackson Chourio, pitching excellence, Abner Uribe, a penchant for stolen bases, some light concern about DL Hall and hot starts for Christian Yelich and Brice Turang.

It's the return of 3 Up, 3 Down, with shout out to relief-pitching newcomer Bryan Hudson. Plus, Remembrew When recalls another Easter tussle 10 years ago and Curt Blanche focuses on MLB's inability to fix an obvious issue.

Garrett Mitchell is hurt and opening day is rained out, but let's talk more Brewers anyway (03.28.2024)
Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe give you one last look at the 2024 Milwaukee Brewers season, with the rainout delaying the start to Friday. They discuss the injury to center fielder Garrett Mitchell, the last-second roster tweak that did not include hot-hitting catcher Eric Haase and some preseason awards predictions. National writers generally feel like this Brewers team won't compete for the division title; are we sleeping on the Brewers as a contender?

Opening day has just about arrived; why there's hope for the Brewers. And why there's worry (03.25.2024)
The Milwaukee Brewers are a mere four days away from the start of the 2024 Major League Baseball season, but this still looks like a pitching staff that has a ton of questions. Brewers reporter Curt Hogg joins host JR Radcliffe to discuss why that's cause for alarm, and why it may not be. Can the offense overcome the losses taken by the pitching staff? Let's zoom in on Christian Yelich, Joey Wiemer and Eric Haase as we get closer to the season beginning in New York.

Who's part of the pitching staff, especially with Devin Williams out? (03.18.2024)
Brewers reporter Curt Hogg joins host JR Radcliffe on the latest episode of Microbrew to discuss the pitching situation in Milwaukee, with closer Devin Williams on the shelf for three months and a rotation that doesn't have a ton of high-profile options. Who gets Williams' spot on the roster? How does the opening-day roster look? What were the takeaways from the Spring Breakout game and has anything changed about our expectation that Jackson Chourio will start the season in Milwaukee?

Devin Williams injured? Sal Frelick legitimately at third? The latest from Brewers camp (03.11.2024)
Brewers reporter Curt Hogg and host JR Radcliffe check in on Brewers' spring training with their Microbrew podcast, including an injury to closer Devin Williams that might sideline him for the start of the regular season. How exactly are the Brewers going to deploy their pitchers? Is Sal Frelick actually going to be a real candidate to play at third base early in the season? What's the latest on Jackson Chourio? Plus, an Oscars-themed Brewers trivia question.
