General Chemistry Spring 2009

  • Lecture January 13, 2009
The majority of this class dwelled on administrative details of CHEM 1515 SPRING 2009 and the course web site. During the last 15 minutes of class we started discussing Chapter 20: Thermodynamics 2nd and 3rd Law.
  • Fall 2006 CHEM 1314 Exam #2 Review
In this segment I Worked out all of the problems on the Exam #2 for the Fall 2006 semester. This will be an excellent review for the final.
  • CHEM 1314 Sample Exam #4 Part 3
In this clip I do three problems. The first is a limiting reagent problem using the ideal gas law, the second is a sample bond energy calculation and the last problem is about identifying what type of hybrid orbitals and atomic orbitals are involved in bonding between two atoms in a compound.
  • CHEM 1314 Sample Exam #4 Part 2
In this clip I discuss several multiple choice questions over gas laws and bonding.
  • CHEM 1314 Sample Exam #4 Part 1
In this clip I do several Lewis structures, discuss formal charge, VSEPR and do several gas law problems.
  • CHEM 1314 Exam #3 Review Part2
In this segment I worked out the multiple choice questions on the Exam #3 for the Spring 2006 semester. This will be an excellent review for the final.
  • CHEM 1314 Exam #3 Review Part1
In this segment I worked out all but the multiple choice questions on the Exam #3 for the Spring 2006 semester. This will be an excellent review for the final.
  • Orbital Diagrams for Multielectron Atoms
In this segment I cover the orbital diagram for elements from hydrogen through krypton. I discuss the importance of spin pairing energy, Hund's rule and the exceptions for the electron configuration for chromium and copper.
  • Fall 2006 CHEM 1314 Exam #3 Review
In this segment I Worked out all of the problems on the Exam #3 for the Fall 2006 semester. This will be an excellent review for the final.
  • CHEM 1314 Exam #2 Review
In this segment I Worked out all of the problems on the Exam #2 for the Spring 2006 semester. This will be an excellent review for the final.
  • CHEM 1314 Sample Exam #5 Part 2
In this clip I do two problems: the first is a solution stoichiometry/limiting reagent combination problem; the second is a calorimetry problem mixing hot and cold water in a calorimeter.
