    This is the sixth class on Hanuman Puja where Swamiji discusses the Hanuman Chalisa and the Bajaranga Bana. Both are famous songs in praise of Hanuman. He also talks about the Pacha Pacha Vidya in relation to the Bajaranga Bana and Aparajita Stotram. The Pacha Pacha Vidyas use sounds of alliteration to move beyond intellectual meanings, and to induce an attitude of intuitive understanding.

    In this class, Swamiji explains the Samkatamochan Hanuman Ashtakam, the Eight Verses in Praise of Hanuman, the Reliever of All Difficulties. The verses tell of the many feats of Hanuman in which he alleviated the difficulties of others. Swamiji also continues the discussion of Pacha Pacha Vidya from Class Six and explains how Sadhana, spiritual practice, can be used to pray for the benefit of others.

He also tells the story of Narad Muni cursing Vishnu and Shiva, as well as the story of Gautum Muni and the Brahmans.

    In this session, Swami Satyananda introduces the Hanuman Puja and explains the subtle meaning of Hanuman and his Mantra. After the introduction, Swamiji explains the meaning of some of the preliminary mantras. Hanuman was the perfect servant and devotee of Ram. As Christ said, “The greatest among you will be the servant.” Ram had to build a bridge in order to cross the ocean to Lanka, but brave Hanuman, saying the name of Ram with full faith and devotion, was able to jump into the sky and fly across the waters.
