Kill By Kill

We Write Good

In each episode, Patrick Hamilton & Gena Radcliffe unpack all the gory details of horror cinema's least discussed component: the characters. And we're starting with the classic slashers, Friday the 13th & Nightmare On Elm Street! Our mission: to detail each hack, slash & decapitation in the hopes that a victim's untimely end is just the beginning of the jokes we can make about them.

Here to help us dig for precious metals out of the raw schlock ore are two Returning Champions to the show, the Horror Queers themselves, Joe Lipsett & Trace Thurman!! Along the way, we talk about 1989’s Battle of the Deep Sea flicks, worship at the alter of Ernie Hudson, Trace keeps track of every sign inside the Mining Shack #7, debate the best underwear to bring for mining, clock every incident of sexual harassment, and ask what the NASA of the ocean is!! Here to help us navigate these dangerous waters is podcast host (Jordan, Jesse, Go! and Free With Ads), writer (Youth Group and Bubble), and Returning Champion - Jordan Morris!! Along the way, we discuss monumentally stupid plans, how to apologize to whales, how to burn down a village from the ocean, and the cast’s lack of a complete wardrobe!! All this, plus we debate how many X-Man powers this whale has, fan cast Charlotte Rampling as GI-Joe characters, and play a chew-heavy edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Jaws The Revenge (w/ Nick Roth) Aquatic Attack April vol 15

It’s a Christmas movie! It’s a shark movie! It’s a Chistmashark movie?! Folks, the confusion never ends on this Aquatic Attack April episode as things get Personal, and we talk JAWS: THE REVENGE with writer and director Nick Roth!!. His new horror movie, HANKY PANKY, is out starting today!! Along the way, we explore the express elevator to hell journey of this movie from script to screen, compare a barge to a tortilla chip, consider what nonsense sounds like science in this film, explore the psychic range of great white sharks, and debate whether the shark’s death at the end of the movie is a #GetBunked!! All this, plus casting corpses, odd friends, banana boats, and a toothsome Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Also, why can’t this shark attack anyone in the water? Why does it always have to be in a boat? If you know the answer, yell at us through your phone or computer… we’ll hear you.

Deep Rising - Aquatic Attack April vol 14

Ahoy there!! Welcome to Animal Attack April… or should we say Aquatic Attack April? That’s right, we’re setting sail for dangerous seas for 2024 as Patrick & Gena catch one hell of a cruise and enjoy 1998’s DEEP RISING!! Along the way, we talk variable-sized tentacles, debate the Steven Sommers formula, campaign for more goop in movies, enjoy the sloppy skeleton hugs, consider Die Hard wieners, worship at the alter of Famke Janssen, and recount how the film’s box office fortunes were sunk by James Cameron’s TITANIC!! All this, plus we punch some tentacles, gaze with lust in our hearts at a young Dijon Hounsou, and slurp up a very grabby version of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! It's a tentacular start to our month-long salute to aquatic horror!! Check it out!!

We’re getting metal AF this week as we discuss the Mad Max and Ren Faire-infused music video for Krokus’ SCREAMING IN THE NIGHT!! This Is Spinal Tap (w/ Becky Wilson)

*You know our philosophy by now: podcast a good time, all the time! That’s why we’re converting this episode of Kill The Rock Star into a 40th-anniversary celebration of one of our favorite death-filled comedies of all time, THIS IS SPINAL TAP!! Here to help us go to 11 is Returning Champion Becky Wilson!! We’re giving the Tap the full Kill By Kill treatment, breaking down every character’s green skeleton, foil-covered cucumber, Saucy Jack dreams, and ability to get 17 people into a single King Leisure bed!! We go deep into how this seminal mockumentary shaped our sense of humor, the difference between stupid and clever, the Fluffkin and Fleckman effect, and briefly recount the time we were taken to dinner by a self-described “serial killer.” All this, plus the most explosive Choose Your Own Deathventure of all time, so make sure to put Kill By Kill first and “Puppet Show” second as soon as this hits your podcast feed people!!

KBK After Dark: Embrace of the Vampire (w/ BJ Colangelo)

An undying love. A forbidden curse. Some weirdo just hanging out in a college clocktower, negging you in class. That’s right - we’re combining our Vampire series with After Dark to bring you a cornerstone of the “I’m a teen star who wants to be taken seriously” genre in 1995’s EMBRACE OF THE VAMPIRE!! Here to take us to school about this pinnacle of blouse-shedding cinema is writer, co-host of This Ends At Prom, and now Returning Champion BJ Colangelo!! After Patrick apologizes for never being able to pronounce anyone’s last name, we dig into what makes these characters tick: horniness! That’s it. That’s the character trait. Along the way, we talk Red Fang Diaries, awkward neck bites, Draculau Ballet, Jennifer Tilly worship, introduce #GetAnhkd, and dumb nerds who need to make it weird!! All this, plus a net-enhanced version of Choose Your Own Deathventure, and we get another character who is telegraphed as sexy via beret!!
